An all-purpose steam cleaner that goes virtually everywhere, even places where no other steam mop can and can clean naturally using pure water. Pressurized, dry steam heats in about 45 seconds. Quality seems to be eroding
Pros: can use non-oreck pads/cloths
Cons: heavy for horizontal use -- to steam windows say.

"I purchased my first steamer online from Costco prior to March, 2010 and was so happy with it that when the handle was coming apart, I bought a new one in March of 2012. The unit refused to steam in February of 2013 so I bought a third one and is is now not steaming a month after I b ought it. I haven't dropped it, damaged it or anything. Am so sorry that quality does not seem to be holding up."

Great product

"Glad we read these reviews. Helped us decide on Oreck over the Shark. We couldn't be happier. The price was right. The steamer seems well built and sturdy. It was easy to assemble and utilize the various heads and bonnets. We used the steamer to do large number of windows both inside and out. It did a great job on our wood, tile and linoleum floors. The most exciting was the results on our clear glass shower doors. Nothing had completely removed built up residue. The Oreck dissolved immediately. They look like new. We are very pleased. We have had Oreck vacuums for years and been pleased. This is just another example of their good quality. And Costoc had the best price."

Pros: stands upright by itself, versatile steams walls windows any angel, awesome attachements grout cleaning a+

Highly recommended for hard surfaces
Pros: solid construction, easy to assemble and use

"The Oreck Steam-It does the job it’s designed to do, and does it very well. It was easy to assemble and use. After the first use, our house smelled better. This means it steamed away residues that had settled into the tiny pores in wood and tile flooring, stuff that vacuuming didn’t get. It was easy to handle and only used about two quarts of water for an 1,100 square foot house. I wouldn’t use it on rugs or upholstery, but it doesn’t claim to work on such materials. It’s built more solidly than a Hoover steamer we’d bought a few months ago and returned. I also like the clips on the steam wand that make it possible to use a hand towel or microfiber cloth instead of the Oreck bonnets. The bonnets work well, I just think Oreck added value by giving me options beyond what they provided. I highly recommend the Oreck Steam-It if you want cleaner floors and a fresher-smelling home."

Love it!
"I was really looking forward to using this after reading all of the previous reviews. Works great! This, by far, has been the best steamer I have owned. I had the Shark steam mop for years and it finally died. I was going to just replace the Shark with the same one since I loved it but after reading reviews on the Oreck plus the reputation of Oreck products thought I'd give it a try. This is a bit heavy to use on walls, curtains and other things but it's definitely worth it. Works great on my wood floors. I have yet to try it on my carpet. Great must buy product. If you like the Shark you'll love the Oreck"

"The price is well worth the results. All types of floors are CLEAN, the stubborn marks plus drip spots that would not go away. Wash the pads before using for lint. I expect this to make short work of palm plant's sticky mess in grout."

"This is my first steam cleaner so I really don't have anything to compare it to but I have to say I was impressed with how quickly steam was available after turning it on. Less than a minute and I was cleaning. I used the head covers provided but I can also use my own towel or microfiber cloths which is a great option. It got my vinyl flooring cleaner than it has ever been. Did a good job on the travertine tile but the grout will need the scrubber tool. It left the bamboo flooring a little dull looking but it did get a lot of old cleaner residue off of it. It seemed much cleaner. I have soapstone counter tops that I want to use it on but haven't tried it yet. Being a first time user I thought the instructions could have been better. I'm not sure how to use it to clean windows and such - it seems pretty big to be lifting above my head. I thought it would be more like a vaccum with a flexible hose that you could use attachments with. I'd like to see a video of how to use the attachments properly. Overall it saved a ton of time cleaning the floors and just for that it was well worth the price."

This is what I expected in a steam cleaner.

"I originally purchased the Steamfast 3 in 1 from Costco and was disappointed in how cheaply made it was so I returned it and purchased this. Right off the bat when I opened the box, I knew it was a better product. It's sturdier, made well but not heavy.
Of course, the Oreck is three times the price of the Steamfast but it's worth the extra money.
It came with not one brush but five! They are small heavy duty cleaning brushes. They did not fall apart like the Steamfast brush did the first time I used it.
Not one or two cleaning cloths, TEN! Three different types of cloths for different uses.
I've used this steamer to clean the bathroom floors and wall tile, ceramic floor tile, kitchen vinyl tile and laminate floors.
Then I went on to the carpeting. The mop head actually has a steam comb to use on your carpet, it sort of works like the rake Stanley Steamer uses. You can also take the mop head apart and use just the base with a cloth and it moves easier on the carpeting. I tried both ways and was pleased either way. One of the cloths that comes with the cleaner (actually there were 3 of these) reminds me of one of those old dust mops. I used that on my laminate floors and it worked beautifully. You can also use your own cloths. There are clips on the mop head so you can use whatever you want. I have already laundered some of them and they came out of the washer and dryer fine. I know on some of the steamers the consumers were complaining about the cleaning cloths shrinking and not fitting again. Not a problem with Oreck.
It also holds a lot of water for the size and goes a long way. I figured out that it held four times the amount that the SteamFast held and doesn't feel any heavier to me.
I'm very pleased with this purchase and with Costco.com. Both of these items were delivered within three days of purchase."
