Great TV at any price

Pros: sound picture
Model Number: Element 46" Class 1080p LED HDTV ELEFC461
"I purchased it for the built in sound which was a negative review of other LED TVs in the same size range. I was not disappointed. The speakers won't replace a 5.1 surround sound but awesome for watching the news or playing a music channel in the background."

Unacceptable customer service by Element

Pros: good price
Cons: customer service from element was unacceptable
Model Number: ELEFC461
"Purchased the TV through Costco.com. The part that connects between the TV and base arrived broken. You would think Element would have preferred to just send me a replacement part since it is a part normally removed by the consumer instead of having me return the entire TV to my local Costco store. Element had me send them pics on Wednesday. No response from them Thursday or Friday. Finally returned the TV to my local Costco store on Saturday after having issues getting it to work with a Logitech Harmony remote. Sound was only marginal. Elected to get a Vizio TV and a sound bar instead. I would have kept the TV had it not been for the customer service issue."

So Far, So Good

Pros: great price and picture
Cons: unbelievable unstable and unsafe stand.
Model Number: ELEFC463JA
"Delivery was rapid, set up was easy. Stand is not only cheap it is dangerously unstable. Weights of some kind need to be placed on the back side to keep it from falling at the slightess movement. Color.etc needed a lot of tweeking. Definitenly needs a good HD connection to get the max picture. Not great just out of the box. Instruction manual is a vague bunch of jargon that does not help much for us ordinary folks. After much effort, including my cable provider out here, it appears to be as good as you can ask for - for the price. Hope it lasts."

Great Value But Quality Not Flawless

Pros: features - value for the money, excellent sound for an led tv
Cons: bright spots on screen during dark transitions, unnecessarily complicated remote control
Model Number: ELEFC461
"I bought this product after quite a bit of comparison shopping. For the money, the specs were quite impressive. Another feature that motivated me to purchase was the built-in JBL 2.1 sound, as sound is often a lackluster feature on LED TVs.
My impression is that the TV is very good value, however, I must say the screen quality was not great. My chief complaint is that there are two obvious light spots on the top left and right sections of the screen, when it should all be black. This is not a bother when the picture is bright or dynamic. However, the bright spots during dark screen transitions remind me... "You almost always get what you pay for."

4 Star TV at 2 Star Price

Pros: jbl sound system is great., works great in bright light., can be viewed at all angles.
Cons: remote not user friendly and feels cheap, remote control sensor located on bottom left.
Model Number: ELEFC463JA
"This is my second Element TV and as with the other, for the price you are paying, you can not beat the quality and features.
Overall for the main purpose of a television (watching the picture) you get a great value for the dollar. This set is not loaded with fluff and useless marketing features, just sensible and reasonable options with a great picture.
The remote control sensor on the unit is located at the bottom left which means if table mounted, you must be carefull not to have anything on the table near the sensor or risk blocking it, and you have to get into the habit of pointing the remote off to the left and bottom and not at the television.
If you want a quality TV that does what we all really want a television to do (great picture), for the price, you will not find better. (and believe me, I spent too much time checking)"

Great TV

"Since I bought this online I did not know what to expect. I asked one of the TV experts at Costco who said it was a good brand. The sound quality is very good and the picture looks great. It was easy to set up.I would buy another one!"

Good and Bad

Pros: everything about the tv and costco was great but
Cons: the tv had a red line down the screen.
"The TV arrivied quickly. Nice not having to pick up at the store in a small vehicle. The sound was very good. I did not have a chance to hear it during an action movie to see how the bass sounded. It did not seem to have strong bass but I did not have a chance to look into any adjustments because ....... the bad: the set had a red line going down the middle of the screen. Called costco and they very nicely talked me through a couple of possible fixes to no avail so I returned it to our local store and had no problem getting a refund. Everything about the TV was great except the red line but I know that things like that happen every once in a while, they just cannot be helped, but Costco still made up for it with good service."

Very good purchase

Pros: picture, price
Model Number: ELEFC461
"Having delivered to the house is a must when you only drive a sedan. Great picture. easy setup, good sound but I was expecting better. Have to control sound and mute with Element hand control, everything else with Brighthouse(cable provider) hand control. Two tech's tried to make it compatable.Instruction Manual does not define terms like user and standard on sound mode and PCM &RAW on SPDIF type so I guess I will have to call Costco."

I love my element and the price is right

"I have an LCD element I purchased four years ago that is still working great and I really liked it, so I already knew I liked Element TVs though some may not have even heard of the brand. I think the speakers are great and far better than normal LED TVs you purchase. A few times my sound has not worked and I have turned the TV off and magically it is working when I turn it back on. As long as it continues working, I am happy with my purchase!"

No complaints, good value

Pros: price, good value for features
Cons: slightly wobbly base but functional
Model Number: ELEFC461
"The setup menu is flexible enough to end up with a good picture in any environment. In our basement system, I had to adjust the color to "cool" to get a natural looking screen. With that done, it's beautiful. If you want great sound, set up a surround system--the speakers may be better than your average TV, but it won't satisfy for home theater. No internet, but not an issue if you have that in a game platform, blu-ray or other device."

Worst purchase yet...

"When we first received the TV it had two big dents in the outer cardboard box. I though it was strange that there wasn't a fragile label on the box.
Set up was easy. The sound was awesome...then the problems started. There was a connection problem with the HDMI port and we could not connect our Blu-ray player.
I called Costco concierge and they were extremely helpful. We connected to Element and the customer service was horrible. The agent didn't have the model number and was not well- equipped to handle the problem. Second red flag went up...She set a case and after we hung up, I never heard back from them. Supposedly a tech was suppose to call me.
Next thing I know...they are sending me a TV part?! Uh, for what?
Long story short, we took it back to Costco, got a full refund and bought a plasma Panasonic 52inch. Very happy with it!"

Not so good

Pros: nice thin design, good picture, 3 hdmi jacks, minimal glare
Cons: few other input jacks, sound is still bad, appears cheap, base mount not good, remote sensor or remote broken
Model Number: elefc461
"I just received this TV because I was replacing a plasma I got recently. I will say first is has a decent picture. Not as Good as my plasma but good enough. I was trading my plasma because it made an awful buzzing noise (which I later learned all plasmas do) and the glare was really bad from outside lighting. This TV has very little glare and makes no sound when turned on. I do like that its pretty thin because its an LED edge lit TV. The front is not that great looking. Kind of a boring black matte finish that shows any and all fingerprints and dust. Now to the speakers. I bought this TV mainly because it advertised having great speakers, better than any other TV. While I might say this is technically true, the sound is still not adequate for watching Movies. For television programs, or news programs the sound is way better than any flatscreen you can buy. Here's the HUGE problem. If you want to watch an action movie with explosions or any kind of BASS, the speakers on the TV buzz(vibrate) really bad. You know kind of like cheap speakers do when you turn the TV up too loud. Also There is virtually NO audio output jacks for which you can connect an exterior speaker such as a simple(cheap) soundbar or older surround sound system. So you are left with using these subpar speakers for all your audio needs. There is a headphone jack, and a digital coaxial stereo jack ONLY. My brand new soundbar does not have a digital coaxial input so I am probably going to return it to see if I can find a speaker that does have one. Lastly I do not know if the remote sensor is broken or the remote itself, but My remote control does not work out of the box. I tried putting different batteries in other than the factory ones and still doesn't work. Yet another issue I am not looking forward to resolving. Why cant things just work the way they are supposed to out of the box?"

Great Picture, Sound, Operation

"After reading a LOT of reviews, and going to see, discuss various units with a lot of sales staffs, we decided to try the Element 40" unit, for our Master Bedroom Suite. Loved it so much that we then ordered this one for the family area. We WERE until now basically watching DVD's off of two analog televisions, so perhaps we're not the best judges, but we find both the picture and the sound none short of wonderful - with NONE of the light corner bleed that so many LED machines reportedly produce."
