Great Printer
Pros: prints quickly holds 250 sheets of paper, no paper jams.

"I received the printer two days after I ordered it. The setup was a little time consuming, but not difficult. I bought this printer because of it's wireless features and had absolutely no trouble setting up the wireless connection for both my HP laptop and my Sony desktop. The printer connects and prints faster than my old hard wired HP Photosmart. So far, I've had no problem maintaining the wireless connecion. I haven't used the scaner yet, but the fax capabilities are great. I enjoy being able to create a document and fax it from my computer screen without having to print out a copy and load it into the printer. A telephone pad appears on your computer's screen, you type in the number, hit send , and it's gone. So far, I'm very happy with my Brother All in one."

Wrong printer to buy
Pros: worked great until it needed a new cartridge, worked great until it was turned off
Cons: continuous cartridge detect issues

"This model is documented having a problem seeing cartridges. Not empty. So you stand there with new Brother cartridges pulling them out and pushing them back in hoping it will register. Now It will not work at all. For two days I've been doing the black one. Without this registering, the unit will not work at all."

Disappointed
Cons: poor photo printing, hard to reload paper

"While the printer did an OK job on Word documents, the photo printing was not good. The photos looked very "flat" with poor resolution compared to other printers, and the colors were not correct. The blacks looked brown, and skin tones looked very washed out. The printer is also huge compared to the others, and the paper tray was harder to reload than others."

"Use this primarily for fax and printing as I have a dedicated scanner in my system. Works well so far and color prints come out looking good if you use the BEST quality setting. I also have a dedicated photo printer but this Brother unit outputs good color prints on glossy photo paper."

Disappointed Brother
Pros: cartridges easy to install
Cons: poor print and photo quality, heavy bulky and poorly made.

"Thought I would try out a Brother printer. Have been pleased with HP printers in the past. The MFC-J6510 DW looked like it had many features that would be helpful in my work. The first thing I noticed was its size. It was very large and heavy. It was not easy to set up and the paper tray was cumbersome and not very sturdy. In fact, the computer seemed very inexpensively constructed. After setting it up, I tried printing and the print quality was mute and grainy. I decided to go back to HP and selected a HP Pro 8600 at my local warehouse. When I asked the local computer salesperson at Costco his opinion of the HP Pro 8600 he said " It is a workhorse and a great buy" When I got home, I set up the HP and placed the Brother printed pages side by side with the HP and found the HP to have much sharper images. The HP printer was constructed of better quality materials and the setup went smoothly. I will stay with HP in the future."

LARGE brother printer
Pros: scans large papers
Cons: large footprint

"Purchased based on reviews. I was able to connect to wireless easily, print a test page. I could not get it to work with my 64 bit windows 7 Dell laptop. Went through Brother support to no avail. Basically not compatible with my system. Thankful for Costco's return policy and took it back. Think it's more an issue with my system than the printer - It was a Dell 64 bit Vista that was upgraded to Windows 7, I think Vista left a ghost."

Beats HP hands down!
Pros: solidly built, fast print from "sleep mode"
Cons: heavy but once it is in place who moves these?

"I am a long-time HP printer user. They used to be "workhorses" and trouble free but in the last five years they've turned into garbage. My last HP had to be replaced under warranty and the replacement was little better than the first one.
I finally had enough of glitches, jams, and problems and started looking elsewhere. I bought this Brother based on user reviews (not on Consumer Reports which for some mysterious reason rates HPs very high). I am very happy with my purchase.
Just taking it out of the box you notice it is solid, well-built (and heavy!). It took about an hour to get it all up and running. I've had this for about a month and I am very pleased. Fast print jobs, good quality. We've scanned documents for email and printing and not a glitch so far!
If it continues to perform like this Brother will be my new "go to" brand!"

"I had to return my HP all-in-one due to scanning and faxing problems even though it was well rated by Consumer Reports. The computer tech who tried to repair the problem has noticed that the HP is experiencing scanning problems. The Brother is so much better than the HP.
It's a new purchase, but so far I am very pleased with the purchase."

Second Brother All in One
Pros: the paper port function with scanner is awesome.

"I got this because I had a Brother All in One a few years ago and really liked it. I have not been disappointed!! Every function works well and the instructions are clear and concise. Best of all I use the scanner for my business and it is very speedy and the scans are quite clear. This is a good machine for anyone who has a small business or is working from a home office."

"In my business I do alot of scanning & printing. After several HP's over the years, I decided to try this printer. I am so pleased! All in 1 capabilities to & including 11 x 17, which is rare in this price range. Scans much, much faster than HP's! 2 large capacity paper trays. Doesn't "cough and sputter" like HP's. Fairly easy to set up and use. The only downside to this printer is it's hard to print envelopes. I love this machine!"
