WORST Directions ever (but good print quality)
Pros: 7 day customer support
Cons: they need it - you can't figure-out how to use it.
Model Number: MC361
"The prints and copies are beautiful, and the scanning is very high quality.
BUT, this is the most user UNfriendly piece of equipment I've ever operated. Good thing they have 7 day customer support because I've needed it over and over. The directions are impossible. I've worked in a professional office for 30 years with all kinds of equipment, and I have never experienced anything so impossible. If I was trying to operate a small business and had employees wasting time with this thing, I would have returned it right away. I've finally (almost) figured-out how to use it for most of the home functions I do."

Prints 1 page every 10-15 minutes
Pros: none. couldn't get it to print a full 16 page doc, english speaking customer support
Cons: print speed 1 page every 10-15 min., can't do duplex because it locks up after 15 min., 75 lbs. that i'll have to lug back to costco., no user guides in the box.
Model Number: Oki MC 361
"Got the OKI MC 361 yesterday. Instructions are not in the box or on the disc. You have to go online and wade through some very non-userfriendly menus to find the "advanced user manual' that gives directions for setting up the system.
Once set up it only printed 1 page every 10-15 minutes. My old HP 2600 has been printing the same document for the past 6 years, an entire 16 pages in about a minute, so I know its not the document or the software.
I contacted Oki support and after about 20 minutes wait I spoke with a man who spoke english (kudos for that). We tried for over an hour to get it to print an entire document, but the printer could not make it through the entire document. It would print a page every 10-15 minutes. Eventually it would time out and we'd have to start over. He was at a loss so he said he'd call me back tonight.
So tonight we troubleshooted for about an hour and a half. He said Oki printers are much slower if you're using a Mac and can't handle documents as large as 16 pages if they have any graphics, charts, or diagrams.
He suggested I try printing my documents one page at a time or in smaller segments.
I'm just going to go with a brand that can print documents larger than a page.
Very disappointed in Oki and would not recommend this brand to anyone who needs to print any volume over 16 pages at a time."

My Review of OKI MC361 Color Laser MFP
Model Number: OKI MC361
"So far I am very happy with this printer. The network setup seemed to be easy I think. All I did was install the Drivers, the OKI LPR Utility, and the User Guide, and all features seems to work fine (the CD comes with many items you can install, but I only chose the three items above). I was able to scan and print via network pretty quickly.
The instructions do seem to be geared for technical people (actually, mine came only with the warranty book, and a quick setup guide – the User Guide is in the CD, I did not get a chance to read it), but just try to get help from OKI support. But still, I think it was easier than I thought since I read so many complaints on that in the reviews (maybe reading the install complaints made me focus more, read more, and carefully go through each step).
From what I remember, here’s what I did:
1) Since I want Network Install, the instructions say, connect the Printer to the network, and power it up. I waited till it’s done with the startup. 2) I turned on my Win 7 64-bit PC, loaded the CD, I did not use the Auto-Run, what I did was I opened the CD folder, right-clicked on the “setup.exe” | chose “Run as Administrator”. 3) I installed the first item, which should be something like “Install OKI Printer Drivers”, then I installed the OKI LPR Utility (I found this is good to use to access the Printers IP Address to run the Printer settings), and then I installed the User Guide. 4) I carefully read and went through the Installation Wizard. After that, all seems to work well. Printer worked right away. 5) As for the Scan via Network, you will need to go open OKI LPR Utility | Remote Print menu | Web Settings. 6) Use the “Administrator Login”, and login. Username is “admin”, default password is in the user guide – search for it. 7) After loging in, click Skip at bottom | then click “List” item on top | under Profile, click New 8) Enter a name for the Profile | Target URL would be something like \\<Your_PC_Name>\Users\<Your_User>\Documents\ | if you want to create a new folder, pre-create it early and then point it to that. The printer will not pre-create it for you. 9) Then enter your Window Username and your Windows Password. 10) Click Submit. Wait a few seconds. 11) Your printer will now have that Profile name. 12) When you want to Scan, press Scan button in your printer, choose “Network PC”, “Select Profile”, then choose the Profile you created, and then press either B&W or Color button. That’s it.
That’s pretty much all I did. I’m happy. I hope other users will experience easy setup too. I also hope OKI give more instructions, but they do have 24 hour support (but I didn’t call them yet).
PRO’s: - Fast startup and printing compared to an $800 HP printer I bought in the past - Quiet for a color printer with Auto ADF and Auto Duplex. Far from the noise of an $800 HP printer I bought in the past. That HP printer seemed like somebody was banging doors inside the printer. - I was also able to setup Scan to Email. I really like that feature. - I love the Power Save and Sleep Mode feature. - Auto Duplex and ADF works good - Quality and Plastics look and feel high-quality. - Not too big. Almost same size as my HP G85 Office Jet (ink jet printer)
CON’s: - The printed text is shinny that it’s hard to ready text (at certain angle only, not all angles) with indoor lamp/light. But in daylight light (maybe since it’s not one bulb), the shininess of the texts are not that seen. It does not bother me too much, so it’s okay. Shiny or glossy prints might be good for Photos though."

Great copier
Pros: easy set up great copies, already proved to be a workhorse
Model Number: MC361
"Very easy to set up. Basically plug and go. Makes great copies. Purchased extra cartridges at the same time and it's good we did. This printer is used for personal, home office and community service and we've made so many copies/prints the black has already needed replacement."

Great performance, but experts-only
Pros: good hardware & print performance, lots of configuration options
Cons: multiple user interfaces not designed for novices, expensive chip-controlled consumables
"This is a great machine, I really like the flexibility and depth of capabilities. Print quality is excellent compared to other color lasers in this price range. However, the user interfaces (front control panel, web server) are not designed well, and I can't recommend this machine for novices or casual home/office users. Also, refilling toner cartridges is not trivial because you need to replace the smart chip at the same time. This is definitely an experts-only value."

Great printer
Pros: excellent quality fast printing, fast color printing. love the power saving featur, ink lasts longer close to actual rating...
Cons: ink. i always think ink is expensive, ink. look around for other prices.
Model Number: MC361
"Printer does EXACTLY what specs say it can do. However, be prepared for an installation that may not be so easy for the non-technical person. Documentation DOES cover how to do X to Y -- so I have to disagree with all other reviews on this topic. Also have to disagree with others about ink life -- does much better then Samsung and HP laser all-in-one printers I have had in the past."

Office machine with office setup
Pros: high quality machine, fast, web interface
Cons: harder to setup than should be for network., a little loud., manuals could use help.
"The MC361 is an office class machine. That being said I'm using it in a home office with not a lot of use. I just got tired of all the expense of inkjets. The printer prints very fast even in duplex mode. Output seems fine. Scanning seems fine. The ADF works great and so does manual feeding paper in. The fan on it is a little loud as well as when it is printing its fairly loud also. Setup is a bit of a pain. . I think one has to realize that it is designed for an office so setup is geared toward IT pros. It is probably quite easy if you just used the USB as a connection. Or actually hooked it up on an office network that had a NAME server . Also use the config program that you can install off the dvd that comes with it to set it up as the control panel is painful. There is also a web interface to it. My tips for setting it up on a home network would be assign it a static ip address first. Then install all the drivers etc on your PCS. You can scan to file from the machine to if you have a name server or put in the correct IP address of the PC when you configure a profile to scan to. If you did this a lot you probably would want a static ip for the pc as well. But it is probably easier just to scan to usb drive or pull the scan data to the pc via twain. Also you can upgrade the memory I found the generic part number while searching different web reviews on the printer and its brothers/cousins; anyway if you do a web search on transcend ts128mpq32v6u you should find the 512mb ddr2 667 so-dimm 144-pin stick that you need. Also there seems not be any generic ink for it on the market as of 11-2012; must be sold out or something; the prices seem hi but then again the carts print 3000 sheets. I think there is just a shortage of generic toner right now for it; vendors say by end of year. Also to scan to a machine on your network you have to use the ip address then the directory; of course directory has to be shared this is assuming you are not running a local name server."

Nice Printer - but...
Pros: nice glossy prints - quick start up, quiet operation for a laser printer, renders almost professional photos on photo paper, heavy - appears to be well built, easy one button push to put in / out of sleep mode, duplex b+w or color, excellent scanning + software with the machine, network printing from any other computer on networ, good price at $549.00 lot of features for money, invaluable oki 24 hour customer service
Cons: very expensive toners and drums-$118/ea color, have to replace every drum at the same time, empty toner after less than 500 copies, difficult to get to some functions -enlarge/shrink, frustrating lcd screen navigation, you must use administrative password to change, settings -stupid to have to use password each time, not wireless - requires ethernet cord, scan area is only letter size - not legal.
Model Number: MC361
"I bought this printer because of the absolutely OUTSTANDING 24 hr a day customer service from OKI - where they actually speak English and are so helpful. They helped me set up the printer on the network in about 10 minutes time, and it works very well for this.
That said, this printer has some drawbacks. To try to enlarge or reduce a copy takes multiple steps, and is not easy at all. I had to consult the handbook extensively and then call customer service, and they had a difficult time going through the steps for the Zoom (20% to 400% ) feature."

Great price, poor instructions.
Pros: great price
Cons: very heavy when you have to return it!
Model Number: MC361
"I recommended this to relatives based on price, too bad I didn't read the reviews. The set-up process was not clear and I couldn't get the scanner to work. After several trips to help try and get it working, I'll be helping haul it back to Costco."

It's a small office network printer.
Pros: ip adressing allows for remote printing access., oki is a quality company with good support.
Cons: setup and addressing can be a bit tough for some.
Model Number: MC361
"I had an OKi prior to this printer. You need to understand IP addressing and network configuring. It is heavy. However it is made well and can stand up to an office work load. The color is nice and black is fast. I like the gloss it leaves on the printouts. Separate toner carts are a plus. You only need to change the one that you need. All in all this is a solid performer for the price."

Very disappointed
Pros: decent prints
Cons: size noise starts up slow, networking is almost impossible to figure
Model Number: OKI MC361
"I had this printer for a year. Wish I had returned it right away.
It is bulky, noisy, and networking is clumsy - and seems the ink (expensive) runs out too quick.
It's prints are decent on the positive side."

Great Printer--Very Happy
Pros: stability, value for price, features
Cons: size
Model Number: MC361
"We bought this printer for the color laser capability, knowing it could plug into our wi-fi extender in our family room and access it from all of our wireless computers. We don't consider it very noisy. No one has complained about the sound with the TV on. Setup was a little tricky to scan to PC. One profile was set to the shared external hard drive, and so far a second one was set up to one laptop. Both work well. It appears to be a very stable connection and setup, compared to the wireless inkjet printer it replaced. We were forever having to reset or reinstall that one for reasons unknown. The semi-glossy toner is great, making printed pages look like photos. It's quite large in comparison to other printers we've owned but it seems like a very sturdy machine which will last for years."

Unstable network connection
Pros: great prints
Cons: terrible network connection on both of our pc's, oki does not update the driver to correct issues
Model Number: MC361
"This printer gives great printing results but is very unstable on its network connection. It may work fine when usb connected but if you install this on a network put the printer driver on your desktop, you will need it. I have to remove this printer and reinstall the drivers every month or so. I have had it about 9 months. I would never buy another low end OKI printer again."

Does what I want
Pros: does what it should.
Cons: none
Model Number: MC361
"I purchased this printer/fax specifically because it will print on 3x5 index card size paper. It does that beautifully, and the colors are very bright. I have to play around with color a bit, but that's not a problem. If I can figure out how to use it, anyone can. I have not hooked it up to a network because I don't have one. It faxes and prints great, duplex printing works really well. Just tried it last week. I've had the machine since November and love it."

Good but complicated
Model Number: MC361
"Prints great color and b/w. Speed is good. Scanning is difficult. Had tech support on the line twice for over an hour each time and only once could we get it to scan. Toner is going to cost easily over $200 to replace all colors and b/w cartrige using compatable refilled versions rather than oem."

Simplicity and Quality
Pros: quality, simplicity, great value
Model Number: MC361
"The OKI MC361 is the best and easiest multifunction printer I have ever owned. The vibrant colors on the printed or copied document or the ease at which I am able to scan documents or send a fax is important to me. Also, the cartridges are very simple to change. I would definitely recommend this multifunction printer to a friend--whether they be an executive or a stay-at-home mom."

Great pinrter. Great service.
Pros: great color output., great technical support 24/7.
Cons: other than the initial printer being broken none.
Model Number: MC361
"The first printer arrived with a broken latch so that I could not access the toner compartment. Okidata sent a new part and arranged for a technician to install it. After installation, it still would not work. Costco sent a new printer. It was easy to install. It warms up rapidly, and the color output is much better than my previous printer, a Brother. Scanning is not intuitive, but it works.
Okidata has 24/7 support, even on Sundays and holidays, and they are quite knowledgeable. Between the Oki and Costco support, I am very pleased.
I cannot recommend this printer highly enough. It is the best one of the many I have had."

Poor user interface not as good as brother 9460cdn
"I have a Brother 9460CDN i need another printer, and heard very god things about OKI. However, i was very disappointed, the first printer I received was defective the door the toner cartridges did not open. Costco service was great they had another one sent out right away. But when i got the new printer i was shocked by how horrible and confusing the user interface was. After installing all the software i was not able to use the scanner from my PC and when i sent a page to be printer over the network it took about 3-5 minutes for the printer to actually receive Data. I returned the printer and got another brother the interface is great and color print is much better."
