Customer Reviews for Helicopter Tour of The Grand Canyon

Helicopter Tour of The Grand Canyon

Our most popular tour departs from the Boulder City airport flying over Hoover Dam, which lies on the border between Arizona and Nevada. The largest man-made lake in the western hemisphere, Lake Mead, lies beyond this amazing concrete wonder. Journey on to Fortification Hill, an extinct volcano and a popular destination for hikers. Learn of countless legends regarding Indian Pass, including fierce battles between the pioneers and Native Americans they may have encountered. Upon entering the west rim of the Grand Canyon you will descend and land on a bluff, which offers stunning canyon views. Gaze at the Colorado River as you enjoy a glass of champagne or wine, and a light snack. Before heading home be sure to take time to explore the sacred homeland of the Hualapai tribe while absorbing some of its history. A once in a lifetime experience... "Probably would have rated higher if had not just returned from helicopter ride over great barrier reef. Most of this ride is over barren dessert. Canyon was pretty. Staff was great."

Very Fun and Well done

"This whole trip was done very well. The van that took us to the airport was extremely comfortable and right on time. The hangar we waited in for the helicopter was decorated like a tastifully done night club. The pilot was extremely knowledgable and entertaining. My only complaint was that the headphones didn't have mikes so we could not talk during the flight. Only the pilot talked during the ride. However, all of the staff was extremely professional and friendly."

Memorable Tour

Pros: once in a lifetime experience
Cons: weather is a major unknown!
"Did this tour back in 2009... Nice experience. However, landing on the canyon floor, although featured in the advert, does not always happen; weather, and current conditions play a huge factor. In my case we just flew over, and did several stationary moves as helicopters do... If it sounds like a trip you'd like to take, give it a shot and don't worry about the Costo discount; you'll end up tipping the pilot even more anyway!"
