Great at first.

Pros: very comfortable on the edges, great for sleeping on side--no leg/arm pain
Cons: large ridge in the middle, feels like sleeping on a slope, box springs creaky
"This bed was great at first for a few months, but there is now such a huge ridge in the middle that we both feel like we have to sleep on the edges. Trying to sleep more toward the middle makes it feel like you are going to roll off the bed. Tried to sleep on the middle to drop ridge--didn't work. About to be returned."

Very firm

"We purchased this bed to replace a 10 year old high end S&F set that was too old to do any good. We had high hopes for this bed but it's just too firm for my side sleeping tendencies. We tried the nova form mattress topper on it and it felt great but then I had an allergic reaction to the memory foam. Back to square one. The bed itself seems well made so we will try a softer latex topper on it to see if that helps. Ten hopefully we can just replace the topper every few years."

Never Again

Pros: costco customer service
Cons: no quality control by manufacturer, manufacturer does not follow through on promises, painfully long time to receive your product
Model Number: Spring Air Helena Latex King Mattress Set
"I bought a Helena a year ago, and the manufacturer sent the wrong box spring set (they tried to say I ordered the wrong size), after much back and forth they admitted their mistake and sent the correct box springs--it took two months to get the correct set (all this time we had the mattress on the floor for sleeping). They promised me a $100 cash card for the trouble (I never got it). Since the first Helena sleeps wonderfully, I ordered another this year for another house, and received the worst mattress of my life. It immediately developed sags on each side and a ridge in the middle. Nothing fixed it (I even bought a new bed frame). I talked with Costco Customer Service, and as they do in their wonderful way, they sent me a new one with no hassle. The second one arrived and they took the old one away. The second Helena developed a sag on one side and remained firm diagonally at an angle across the bed--I constantly felt like I was going to fall out of bed. I'm so disappointed with the quality control, that I gave up on the Helena and bought a Birchmere (no trouble so far)."

Still on the fence. It may go back :(

Pros: feels heavenly soft., costo's liberal return policy., mostly natural latex construction.
Cons: feels soft; concerned it may "break down" early., slightest irregularity can be felt under mattress., 2 pc king box spring does not work with mattress., added expense of platform base.
Model Number: 594676
"I had been looking for latex, which has similar qualities to memory foam, but is made from natural latex sap. It was priced as one of Costco's top-end mattresses, so I assumed it was top quality. Delivery was flawless. The mattress and box are on my floor, as I don't yet have a king frame. Mattress is incredibly soft and plush. Feels like a dream upon first laying down, but it can be difficult to reposition one's self. There is a noticeable hump in the middle that we believed was from the center ridge of frame; we removed the box spring and ridge is nearly gone. It's too bad we had to buy the 3 pc set because now I need to buy the folding platform frame to use with the mattress instead of the box springs that came with it, but I'll have to store the box springs in the event we need to return the set. I'm still on the fence. I want to love this bed. It's SO soft... but maybe too soft. I worry that it will break down too quickly, especially given that the box spring frame was so perceptible beneath the mattress. The mattress is on the floor... hump is gone, but it still feels more noticeably firm in that area (which indicates to me that the areas we've slept on have broken down noticeably already). If the new platform provides more support and mattress doesn't break down further I will definitely be keeping it. I'd like to encourage others to comment. Would like to know if my experience is typical. This is a frustrating situation but not stressful thanks to Costco's liberal return policy. Spring Air Company was very friendly but not helpful."
