Do the math

"197 calories/$ spent. This is the highest priced survival food item. Calories per $ spent on all Costco survival offerings range from 100 to about 1400 so this offering is definitely towards the overpriced end. The Thrive brand offerings tend to have the best value in Calories per $ spent. Also they offer a similar product for ~$1900 that has the same total calories ~680,000 AND no China origin content (almost all USA). I have no connection to Thrive and just did the math today on these Costco offerings. Costco could save us all a lot of time and trouble by presenting normalized comparisons of all these survival products as to 1) Shelf life 2) Country of Origin 3) Calories/$ 4) Carbs/Protein/Gluten etc. 5) Vitamins 6) etc."

Well thought out product

"I have been buying the single 6 gallon containers of this product. In my opinion, it is one of the most well thought out food ARKs you can buy for the following reasons:
1. Each canister is one month of food for one person.
2. It is over 2000 calories per day for fuel/food intake. Many of the products I have seen are less than that by a significant amount. In an emergency situation your body will burn more calories with the stress, weather conditions, etc that are all variables, and the more calories the better.
3. They seem to have thought out a protein / carbohydrates mix. I personally would supplement with additional protein as I am a 240lb man, but again, well thought out.
4. Easily stored because of the plastic buckets that are sealed, and the 15 year shelf life works for me.
5. The addition of additional fruits and vegetables are important to vary and supplement your nutritional intake.
6. This kit is 2 years of food for one person, One year of food for two people, or six months of food for a family of four. Not bad for the price.
I would add additional preparations around it, such as comfort foods, like Coffee, Tea, Peanut Butter, Chocolate, etc.
I have not purchased this kit, but the individual containers, and am giving this serious consideration..."

"This will be the one of the best purchases I have ever made when walkers start roaming around. My friends and I are thinking of going in together to buy it because there is so much food here."
