Pros: battery for charging
"Lot's of pockets and padding. Good build quality. Comfortable to carry full. Charging battery seems to work well. Great price. No problems with TSA.
I took a 1/2 star off for the weight, though it is not heavy. The instructions on connecting the battery were weak as they are written for multiple bags this manufacturer makes.

very innovative and well designed

"This is a superbly designed backpack with a power-bank that's quite intuitive and easy to use. This bag is indeed checkpoint friendly in the various airports I have tested so far (remember to unzip and split-open the separate back compartment that holds the laptop!).
There is plenty of room in the compartments with adequate number of small and large pockets, and the power-bank is very light and does charge up to four devices after full charge - it was very handy during recent trips to Europe and Asia. I expect to use it routinely for most of my future business and leisure travel. I wish it came with wheels ("roller power-backpack") so that I don't have to carry it on my back during those long walks in large airports or when waiting in long immigration lines - hopefully this will be an option in future models for tired travelers.

its not check point friendly

"Since it has a built-in battery system my son got stopped at the security check point twice at the airport as it will not pass through the scanner without beaping. He had lot of hassle at the airport because of this built-in battery. So I will not recommend this bag if you are frequent flyer. Its ok if you check-in this bag at the airport."

Good idea; didn't work for me

"I love the concept and would rate it higher except the dimensions for a 15"x11"x1.5" laptop are not accurate. My laptop didn't fit so I had to return it."

The best back pack EVER!!!

Model Number: Business Class Laptop Backpack
"I got this 6 months ago for my husband, after checking out the prices on other websites, I just ordered 3 now that the holidays are here. My hubby who tends to tear through things quickly, travels frequently, loves this bag. This bag not only does all the charging your gadgets need, it's also very sturdy. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS BAG."

Great backpack!

Pros: light weight not bulky lots of pockets, tsa checkpoint compliant for laptops
Cons: can't lock laptop compartment
"I bought this to replace a Swiss Navy backpack which I loved and had for years but was too bulky. This fits the bill perfectly! I came across it while looking online for another Swiss Navy backpack and the price is incredible so after a little research I decided to order it, so glad I did It doesn't stick out too far like my Swiss Gear but still holds a lot and it's a lot lighter. I expected the battery pack to be bigger and heavier, it's about the size of a cell phone and it's light so it doesn't add much weight. Haven't charged a lot on it yet but the charger seems to work great. The LED's which indicate the charge and light up when turned on or off are not visible unless they are lit so no one will know that this has a charger in it. I no longer carry my laptop with me when I travel so can't speak for the laptop compartment, seems like it could be a tight squeeze but a 15 in laptop should fit. I do carry my iPad and it fits perfectly in the picket made for it and I am able to put other stuff in the laptop compartment. If you do carry your laptop, I imagine most do, there's no way to lock that compartment. You can put a lock on the compartment that holds the iPad though. It's well made, maybe not quite as durable as my Swiss Gear, but still should last a long time. Very happy so far and as usual Costco shipped it very quickly."

Great concept, poor quality bag

Pros: great concept
Cons: poor quality workmanship on seams
"As mentioned by another reviewer, the seams of two of the compartments in my bag have begun to separate from the zipper in the top/middle. Granted, I took it on a 3-week vacation, and packed the bag pretty full, it should not have gotten this way so quickly after only 6 weeks of ownership.
Love the concept, and still haven't ruled out getting another one for use around town (without such a heavy load).
Another thing to note. It has great padding and many compartments, making the back pack rather thick and bulky even if empty. Love the compartments and padding but not all the bulk."

Great Product

"This is a great bag, very light weight but durable. It is made from great quality material. I especially liked the fact that there are cables that come pre-attached with the back but it also has USB ports which can be used to plug in other cables. The battery can be taken out as well. Very light weight battery. It also has a pocket for an Ipad. I tested charging my Ipad, Iphone simultaneously and it worked great for both of them."

Great backpack

Pros: nice looking, versitile and practical, just the right size
Model Number: RFAP-0013P
"I saw this backpack on Costco.com and I was immediately intrigued by the battery pack concept as I am a 'gadget guy'. I did a lot of research online and read many reviews and found that this was a great backpack. I had been considering a backpack to use for work (laptop, etc.) and this fits the bill perfectly. I like all of the pockets, the water bottle pocket and the easy access for the laptop. Shortly after I got it, a coworker saw it and immediately went to her computer and ordered one. She loves her's too!"

Good bag

Pros: ability to charge products on the go.
Cons: heavier duty stitching at the handle seams
"I recently purchased the power bag and it has a good feel to it. The only drawback I have with the bag is the seam near handle at the top is starting to come apart after my first business trip. I think the seams need to be reinforced, especially if you tend to fill up the bag, making it a little heavier. I am returning the one I purchased and have ordered another one since I am very happy with the charging capabilities and really like the bag other than the seam issue"

Great for business travel

Pros: great design, extremely functional
Model Number: PowerBag Business Class Backpack - Item # 629976
"I am an executive and travel regularly, all over the world. I switched from a briefcase to a laptop ready backpack several years ago to help my back. I have found this PowerBag to be a great investment. It's very well thought out - great design and built to last. Beautifully lined pockets separately protect your ipod, smartphone and ipad and are each also equipped with charging ports that source energy from the central onboard battery. Just connect your device and hold down the power check button on the outside of the bag to initiate charging. This Costco version has a higher capacity battery, but does not take up much space in the bag and is not heavy. There are plenty of other pockets to stow away the range of items I travel with and the main compartment can hold dozens of files. There is a sunglass pocket along the top that is very accessible and protective. The side zippered, padded laptop pocket has the best access of any bag I've used. The whole bag quickly zips in half to allow the laptop to be screened by itself at airport security - without having to actually remove it from the bag. The shoulder straps and the back of the bag are nicely padded, making for a comfortable ride, with good distribution of weight. It fits under most airplane seats and even within smaller regional jet overheads. Recharging the battery is simple - either by plugging in the bag through an external port or charging the battery itself with the included small travel charger.
I regularly recommend this product to associates and colleagues."
