Great system
Pros: loves the wireless application on my smart phone
Cons: monitor came with interior scratches on screen.

"Works as promoted. I would not recommend do it yourself installing. even the recommended, expensive installer, was somewhat clueless as to the operation of the system and had difficulty. Monitor came with interior screen scratches. No problem with Lorex doing an exchange just for the monitor."

NOT for Do-It-Yourself Buyers - Not Recommended

"This system will drive you nuts. Simply getting the closed system configured is a multiple day effort. Call tech support and they will responed many hours later, most proabably when your are not in front of the system. If your able, by some luck, to get the closed system working, trying to get it set up for internet viewing is a huge complex mess for a DIY. Again don't count on tech support, there on the other side of the globe and will call back many hours later. The instruction manuals have no gossary or index, and a very small trouble shooting section. If your crazy enough to take this Lorex system on, you will find yourself very frustrated. You may never get the system working."

Best security system ever. It has it all for cheap

"Lorex 21.5" Touch Screen 8 channel Edge2 DVR Security System with 1TB Hard Drive and 4 High Resolution Camera kit. The touch screen is outstanding for navigating, setting up and watching your security system. The Edge 2 unit fits on the back of the monitor for a clean setup.
The key component to this system is the Edge 2 DVR. This is one of the most advanced security DVRs I have come across. The system is totally intuitive. You can access everything so easily; there is no looking to find what you need buried in submenus. It is all right there in front of you. I can securely access all the cameras from another location over the Internet. When I plugged in my older cameras and saw the difference in the clarity between the new ones and the old ones I was shocked, I now have to replace the old 480 TVL Color IR cameras with new ones because these new 660TVL cameras are so good. I also bought a few 700TVL Color IR Vandal Proof Dome Camera with 1PC LED Array, plus longer and shorter cables for far less $$$ from Lightinthebox. The Vandal Proof Dome Cameras are outstanding.
This is the best and easiest system to own or set up yourself. The only thing I would like to see is a 1.5 TB or 2.0 TB drive. I had a break in and it comes with experience that you can never have enough storage memory when you have all the camreas recording while getting a high enough quality of picture for the authorities to use."

Disapointment
"the suposed 600TVL cameras are cheaply produced and do not output an image that is nearly as crisp as a 600TVL camera should. Configuring the system for remote viewing is a nightmare! The manual is 100 pages long and the support for apple computers is a joke - the software crashes constantly and you have to do a bunch of fancy footwork on our router etc to get it to remote view (i never got it to work). I am returning the system and buying another."

"tried for several hours to get the router to let the lorex system through called customer support left call back number called back within 15 minutes!!!! they had me up & running in another 15 minutes and they are u.s. based call center"

"If replacing existing system that has "DIN" connector cameras, you must call Lorex to purchase video adapter and power to "BNC" connector's. Can not install yet."
