Blown Away Happy!

Pros: beats complexity of tons of speakers/wires, full rich immersive sound, the picture is 1/2 the experience sound imp. too!
Model Number: VHT-215
"Never heard a soundbar in a home environ before. Sounded weak in showroom. But in my 10x10 guest room(new man cave), it is UNBELIEVABLY loud and crisp sounding. I'm finding myself just wanting to watch music and other events with great audio to show off. Didn't want wires and speakers all over room so I read up on reviews of soundbars. Vizio's seem well liked so I picked up this one in my local Costco. They had a working display model and it did sound pretty good even in giant warehouse. Plenty of bass and lots of adjustments. Great purchase, easy to set up. I"m using optical audio cable. Thanks Costco/Vizio!"

Pretty Good but a few quirks

Pros: nice sound, nice looking
Cons: terrible remote, quirks in cec implementation
Model Number: VHT215
"The sound on this device is pretty impressive. It is sleek and mounts easily. There are a few annoying quirks however. First of all the remote is horrendous. It is small and has a slide out tray that is very difficult to slide out. you need 2 hands to do it. The input select button is on that tray and some of the quirkiness means you may have to use that remote often. Thankfully I have a Logitech Harmony 300 remote that allows me to take this remote and throw it in the drawer. My Verizon FIOS remote cannot control this device. So every time you switch between devices such as your Cable/STB/Satellite box and a Bluray or DVD you need to switch the input on the sound bar but you need 2 hands to slide out the tray with the input button. The keys are very small and it is easy to hit the wrong button. Using HDMI ARC with CEC is very useful and you should be able to control the sound bar with the TV remote. The TV remote can adjust the sound on the sound bar and turn it off, but it cannot turn the bar back on and it cannot set the input. So unless you have a good universal like a Logitech Harmony, you will be back to flipping several remotes."

About as good as a $50 computer speaker system

Pros: gorgeous design, clear voice - good for dialogue
Cons: audio fidelity is lacking
"Bought this to use with my 58" Samsung Plasma. We currently have a pair of 18-year old Bose bookshelfs driven via a JVC receiver. My test was with U2 Rattle and Hum on MP3. Bass guitar was muddled and just howled, cymbals were tinny on the Vizio soundbar. I plan to use use these for casual music listening in addition to movies and this failed that test.
Then I tried my low-priced computer speakers connected to the TV and they sounded about as good as the Vizio, except they couldn't get as loud as the soundbar. So I decided to return the Vizio and try a soundbar system from the brand with three tuning forks in the logo.

510 is better

"I got the 510 unit about a year ago, & have been extremely happy with it. It had bad reviews about blue display disappearing, but I have not had a single problem with it.
I like the 510 as it comes with 2 additional satellite speakers that hook up to the wireless sub woofer. If you can't find the 510, then go for this and you won't be sorry.

Great addition

Pros: sound, price, ease of use
Cons: should include hdmi cable, powers off with the tv
"I have been an audiophile for many years but due to an international relocation, I left most of my high-end audio equipment overseas. When I relocated, I bought a 65 inch Panasonic TV and didn't get around to buying an audio system for over a year.
Costco put the Vizio product on sale at $199.95. I didn't expect high-end but I hoped that I would get an improvement over the standard sound system in the Panasonic TV.
I needed to buy a HDMI cable to hook the system up. My setup has a Google TV, Direct TV and Panasonic Blue Ray Player. The Direct TV receiver plugs directly into my Google TV device.
To install, I removed the two HDMI cables from the TV and plugged them into the Vizio box. I then added my new HDMI cable and plugged it into HDMI 1 of the TV. I plugged in the subwoofer and the Vizio sound bar and everything was ready to go.
The system has a remote control. The remote control controls the volume, switches inputs and turns the unit on and off. It also allows you to make some settings to the sound.
The sound was surprisingly good. There was much more weight to the sound than before.
The Vizio definitely has a sweet spot sitting directly in front of the sound bar but the results were very good throughout the listening area.
Overall, the results were far better than I could have expected. The system starts to show some stress when you turn it up to about 18. The sound is then too loud for a conversation but not quite "party" loud.
I tried playing music through the Google TV and then turning off the TV as not to waste electricity. When I turned off the TV, the Vizio went off. I could however power the Vizio unit and play music.
I was quite surprised how good the music reproduction was. The sound was pleasant and didn't have any unpleasant harshness.
The Visio Home Theater Sound Bar is inexpensive, easy to set up and provides a massive improvement over the sound coming from most TVs. While not a replacement for a high-end audio system, it sounds better than most compact audio systems or boom boxes."
