Gamma Seals Issue!
Pros: packaged in mylar bags inside bucket...a +
Cons: gamma seals failed under weight of packaging :(
Model Number: Thrive 6-gal packaged products w/Gamma Seal Lids
"While doing a quick inventory today, I just noticed that two (heavy) 6-gal packaged containers with the Gamma Seals were broken. The original Gamma Seals shipped with my Thrive (42-lb White Rice) buckets both failed...this is very disappointing, but thankfully I noticed! Somebody stacking these buckets for long-term storage might get a rude surprise months (or years) from now only to find their product spoiled due to failed seals. I'm returning both to Costo & will replace. FYI, I am stacking buckets 4-5 high although only the bottom two (White Rice) buckets were heavy. Other (lighter) Thrive products w/Gamma Seals (i.e. Oats, etc) have held up ok. Regardless, I just bought all my LTFS in the past 90-days, so this happened really quickly. I have some other Augason Farms w/regular lids that were stacked similarly (& heavy: rice, etc), but did not fail. This is really a Gamma Seal (not Thrive) issue since the former is the manufacturer of the lids in question (& perhaps there was a defect in these particular lids), but anyone stacking buckets w/Gamma Lids should be regularly checking for this issue (or store differently to avoid such risks). FYI: I also purchased 12 Gamma Lids & the 12 lids/buckets combo from Costo, but haven't used either yet; in fact, I may be returning them & stick with conventional lids for my storage needs...perhaps only using Gamma lids once the buckets are opened & being used (which I hopefully will never need to do)!"

Super long shelf life - Super fresh product!
Pros: super long term 30 year shelf life, super fresh manufacture date!, excellent product labeling, nice gamma lid
Cons: none!
"Wow! This bucket has a 30-year shelf life! It comes with a nice gamma lid and the instructions and labeling on the product are first rate! The date of manufacture is printed right on the label. My date of manufacture was only a few weeks old! Super fresh!"
