Not quite ready for prime time

Pros: attractive, quieter than centrifugal juicers
Cons: takes up too much counter space( with containers), requires too many veggies/fruits to make one glass, messy cleanup, too much time preparing food to juice.
Model Number: 940
"There are two Korean companies providing high end slow juicers to the USA: Hurom ( also OEM for Omega VR350),and Kuvings (also OEM for Breville 600XL Fountain Crush).) Supposedly, Hurom designed the original vertical masticating juicer, and was more or less knocked off by Kuvings. The Kuvings design seems to make unnecessary changes to the tried and true Hurom design - probably to avoid patent infringement. ( Hurom has now introduced an April 2013 updated design under their own brand.) The problems I had with my Kuvings were the following:
1. The top of the machine noticeably wobbles as soon as the machine is started.
2. There is noticeable grunting and groaning from the machine under load ( like juicing carrots). Fibrous veggies like celery really foul this machine unless they are cut up in small pieces.
3. The pulp seems more wet than the Omega VR350 I used to test side by side. None of these juicers are very efficient: you have to use a lot of fruits/vegetables to get a glass of juice.
4. You have to spend a lot of time cutting veggies and fruits into small pieces so they can fit into the small feed opening.
YouTube videos of similar testing have shown the Kuvings stall during juicing, and the top popped off at one point. I returned my Kuvings and kept the Omega.
NOTE: I finally returned my Omega and replaced it with a Vitamix for whole food juicing. Slow juicing seems like a luxury; you need to stock a lot of veggies/fruits just to make a few glasses of juice. You end up with a lot excess pulp that you would normally digest. You also have to spend more time preparing the items you wish to juice."

Excellent Juice

Pros: it is very quiet, i like the cleaning tools it comes with
Cons: the juice collector does not have measurements
Model Number: Kuvings Upright Juicer Model: KSL
"The juicer is very quiet, not like the centripetal juicer I had previously. The pulp comes out very dry, so I know I am getting the most juice out of the fruits and vegetables I put into it. It has many parts, but it didn't take long to get used to taking it apart and putting it back together."

Best Juicer I've owned.

Pros: heavy duty yet quiet., high juice yield., easy to clean
Cons: none
Model Number: UL-110, 120volt, 60Hz, 240w
"I started out juicing with the Jack Lalane model. It did a good job although the pulp was very wet. There were times when I'd actually hand squeeze the pulp to get more juice. I gave that juicer to my kids and, after an exhaustive research period, purchased the Kuvings Upright Juicer.
It's amazing in every way. Quiet. Sturdy. Strong motor. High juice yield. Great tasting juices. Easier to clean than the Jack Lalane.
Some people report that the preparation time is a drag. However, I've started preparing the veggies and fruits the night before making the morning juicing a breeze. And, unlike the centrifugal type that heats the juice, with a masticating juicer the juice will keep throughout the day making it possible for my husband to take it to work.

Too much work

Pros: solid machine great quality., reasonably quiet, looks great
Cons: food prep, cleanup, juice is pulpy
"I thought it would be great to go with a masticating juicer but I this one is just too much work and the final product is not the best. Not easy to clean. My old one that I was trying to replace takes only a couple minutes. Food prep is another downer. You have to chop things up pretty small or it will jam. For food prep, processing, and cleanup, it could take as long as 30 minutes for a glass of juice. And then the juice is really pulpy. You almost have to chew it. This isn't necessarily a bad thing, more fiber, but if you don't like it you will spend another minute or two straining your juice and you've just made more cleanup work as well. In my book it doesn't matter how cool a juicer is if it is too difficult to use quickly and easily it won't get used and that just defeats the purpose."

LOVE this juicer!

Pros: easy to assemble, easy to clean, easy to operate
Model Number: 950
"We've been using Juicers for a few years now and this machine is one of the most steady performers we've had. On top of that it's INCREDIBLY easy to clean. And assembling the pieces again is made just as easy by intuitive indicators. I didn't even need the manual, but it did come with a cool booklet of recipes.
The quality of engineering is obvious from the above mentioned attributes, but the internals all show it off even further. It looks like the same kind of forward-thinking design that you see in brands like Dyson. It's futuristic, clean and elegant enough to leave on the counter.
We're VERY happy. I'd recommend this machine to anyone who uses a juicer. It's easy to learn for newbies and easy to operate for pros."

good juicer

Pros: 10 yr warranty, smooth juice, nutritious
Model Number: ns-750
"I purchased this juicer couple months ago. good juicer in my opinion. Juices are very smooth and knowing that its very nutritious is definitely a plus. It makes sense when they advertise about its nutritious value, because it squeezes the juice out instead of cutting and grinding. Anywho, I've had no problem with this juicer and it will last me for atleast 10 years! i love their warranty!"

Best of the Vertical Juicers

Pros: bpa-free tritan, features omega doesn't have at a lower price, special patent cleaning tool, works great with greens and soft items
Cons: slower than centrifugal, more produce prep than centrifugal, more cleaning time than centrifgual
"I've owned several juicers from a variety of brands - Omega (Big Mouth and 8004), Breville (Juice Fountain Plus - centrifugal), and Kuvings (centrifugal and the Kuvings Slient Juicer). This vertical auger juicer is my favorite juicer as I like making mixed juices and am looking for healthy juices you can't make as well with the traditional high speed models and its faster than my Omega 8004 horizontal machine (which had a flawed screen design which was updated for the third time due to being too weak).
These slow juicers might not be as fast as high speed but you get much more juice with items like greens and other soft produce items and there is more healthy fiber in the juice which helps buffer sugar levels as your body absorbs the juice (if you don't like fiber, pour it through a strainer but it won't be as healthy). I've used a friend's Omega 330HD and its performance and design was inferior - no handle, no special cleaning tool, smaller auger/screen, no protective cover over the operation button, and the containers included aren't BPA-free. I've yet to see a better vertical auger juicer do better than this - that's a fact.
I think the people who haven't had as much luck in the reviews didn't bother to read the instructions or look around on the Internet about these vertical auger juicers. You can't just jam produce in them, you have to do some preparation/cutting and use the proper feeding technic. As with computers it typically comes down to user-error, the equipment is great. Read the manual and check online if you want to make sure you are getting the most of your juicer - there is tons of information out there that will get you great results especially with soft fruits and greens compared to the cheaper centrifugal units."

So happy with this unique juicer

Pros: very quiet, quality juice
Cons: takes time to learn how to use it
Model Number: Kuvings Silent Juicer
"This is a great juicer. It seems a little complex than a centrifugal juicer with all the different parts, but it doesn’t take that long to learn how to operate it properly. Once you get that down, it’s fairly easy to use. It took my mother some time to get used to it though. Compared to centrifugal juicers, you will get more pulp in your juice, but I honestly don’t mind them. Knowing that my juice is highly nutritious, it really makes you feel good. I make about 2 cups of fresh juice every morning, and it takes about 10-15 min including clean-up. This juicer is by far the best juicer I have ever used and works perfectly for my family. I recommend this juicer to anyone who is willing to invest their time and in their health."

Awful

Pros: nice looking
Cons: jams all the time needs several cleanings to work, low yield, high sediment in juice, not at all quiet, the best is not the most expensive
Model Number: KSJ
"I love juice. I make juice out of carrots, cherries, apples, grapes, pineapples, tomatoes, just to name a few. I am impressed with the claimed health benefits of juicing, but mostly I prefer to drink it rather than eat it. I have had many, many juicers over the years and when I saw this one at Costco for $299 and read the impressive advertisement on the box I was sold, greater yield, finer filtration, good tasting, healthy juice and quiet to boot. So I bought it and got tomatoes, pineapples and carrots to make juice with my new, expensive. nice looking Kuvings juicer.
It was awful.
I bought a 10 pound bag of carrots the first two went in fine then these carrots which were skinny (not thick) could not get through the juicer. the Kuvings jammed once or twice on ever carrot and after 5 carrots, I had to totally disassemble it and clean it. I stopped after three pounds to many jams, too much cleaning. The product was not at all a greater yield that I had with my old Omega, in addition the product was so full of carrot sediment that I had to strain it to drink it. Carrots are hard to juice, but the Kuvings booklet suggests carrot juice. It failed totally to make acceptable. But I had bought more fruit and I wanted to try the two others.
Next I tried the grape tomatoes. The juicer worked fine only one complaint really, the throwaway bi-product was loaded with juice. With my hand I squeezed it and got probably 3 ounces of additional juice. A juicer that promises a great yield should not do this.
Finally I tried a pineapple. Of course, I cut away the outside tough skin. I had put probably a quarter of the pineapple cut in very small pieces into the juicer. Juice, not much of it came in to the juice reservoir. More juice came into the bi-products reservoir. There was no bi product removed from the juicer, it was all stuck inside jamming the juicer and not allowing any more fruit to be processes. I took it apart and cleaned it. I started to reassemble it to continue to use it and then I had had it, I said no. I am not paying top dollar for such an awful product. I repacked it in the box and tomorrow it gets returned. This juicer wasted my fruit, my time and hopefully I'll get all of the money I spent for it back tomorrow. I am going back to the old faithfuls, Acme and Omega.

Overpriced and jams all the time

Pros: verticle design
Cons: constant jaming
"My 3rd attempt at finding a juicer that is a masticating style.
I like that it is verticale in designe.
But, I do Kale and carrots, apples etc........I juice everything. I tried to even take it easy on this thing and it just jams up. Takes 2-3 times longer to make juice having to go backwards and forwards throughout the entire juicing process.
So back it goes.......
had 2 starts- but since it does not really work it gets one star.
Funny how it states effortless juicing in the guide too.
What's up with the short press tool?

best juicer

Pros: volume of juice ouput, quality of the juice, ease of cleaning, size of the product (uses less counter space), warrenty
"had it for a month. like the product. gives a very good volume of juice with little pulp in it. cleaning takes about 3-5 min. usually use for juicing fruits, but tried wheatgrass (results awesome).
with quality of product and 10 years of warrenty , you will definitely get 10 times the worth out of it.
there are other manufactures with the same technology but just went with costco as they are selling it (i am for sure they would have compared the others and picked this manufacture)

Good value

Pros: more juice output
Cons: needs frequent cleaning for stringy foods
Model Number: Kuvings Upright
"This machine is very quiet compared to other juicers, definitely built to last longer. It is protected from overload and motor destruction if you insert a huge carrot. You must pre-process the harder foods by slicing them into thinner strips. Stringy foods like celery and string beans require frequent cleanout even if you chop them into smaller pieces. Gets the MOST JUICE of any other juicer I have seen."

Good at Some Stuff

Pros: great at soft fruits, quick at vegetables, very quiet, strong motor
Cons: fiber output clogs easily
"I really like a lot of things about this juicer. But, I am still going to return it. It's not better *enough* than the high-speed juicer I already have.
I make juices with a lot of greens. Lots of kale, chard, lettuce, asparagus. Leafy things like kale are a pain with a high-speed juicer so I wanted to try the masticating juicer. And this juicer is definitely better at quickly extracting juice from leafy greens. And that's great. But...the hole where the dry fiber is extracted and pushed out includes a narrow 90-degree turn where stuff just gets blocked up. And that means while I'm making half-gallon of vegetable juice I have to take the machine apart and clean out that chute three or four times. And for me that's not acceptable. This appliance costs too much for me to take that much time using it. I did try alternating with soft or crunch fruits and that helps a little bit...but it still clogs up.
I will say this: If you like to juice fruits, this is a great juicer. It's a lot (lot) better at juicing soft fruits like peaches or pears than a high-speed juicer. The high-speed model shoots out most of the fruit and yields very little juice from these super-juicy fruits. The masticating juicer does an amazing job on that type of fruit. So, if you primarily make that type of juice you'll love this juicer. For me...it's just not worth keeping a very expensive juicer that can't efficiently do the type of vegetables I routinely juice."

Very functional and user friendly

"This is extremely easy to use. One important thing is people have unrealistic expectations. You still have to prep your fruit and vegi and cut them into appropriate sizes. The clean up is actually very easy because you do not have to stop at all to clean up. As for some users who jammed the motor! Honestly, if you look at the mechanism of the machine, I will not juice carrots without cut them into smaller sizes. You you can use the machine wisely and realistically, this is a beautiful machine.
It has impressed two of my friends to buy her already!

Quiet and efficient--love it!

Pros: quiet, efficient
Cons: user manual should be edited
"After doing some research about the health benefits of a slow speed juicing process, I ordered this unit to replace a fairly expensive older model centrifuge juicer. I’ve used it daily for over a week now. This juicer is relatively quiet (much quieter than my old one), virtually self-feeding (doesn’t require much use of the plunger) and easy to assemble, disassemble and clean. The pulp is not overly wet, which tells me the juicer is doing its job. The quality of the juice is good, and it just looks (and tastes) better than the juice obtained from the centrifuge model, and has very little foam. One reviewer said theirs jammed. Mine stopped once the first time I used it. I put it in reverse and then back on forward, like the directions say to do if this happens, and had no further problems. For me, it was probably more user error than product issue—hasn’t happened since. As to one reviewer’s comments about it being difficult to clean, I disassemble mine immediately after use, quickly rinse the parts, and put them in a sink of warm soapy water until I have a chance to get back to it--and when I do, there is very little effort used to get it clean. I’m quite happy with this unit, and would recommend it to anyone. Well worth the money."

Very unhappy with this product

Pros: small frame
Cons: gets stuck all the time. very small opening., juice is left with a lot of pulp. too expensive.
Model Number: 644660-Kuvings upright jmasticating uicer
"Very unhappy with this juicer. I returned it after using it once. The juicer got stuck constantly and stopped working so I had to wait and then use it again. The juice was full of pulp so I had to strain the juice to get a more consistent liquid. The opening is way too small to get the items in. The juicer is way too slow. Also, it's not as quiet as described by some. I wouldn't use it if it were given to me for free. It was a hassle and a lot of work to use it. My 15 year old Jack LaLanne juicer is a far better producty than this one."

Best juicer I've ever owned

"I've owned a lot of juicers over the last 20 years or so. This is the first one that squeezes the juice at slow speed. I'm very impressed. I also like that it's very quiet compared to the others I've had. I bought this as a result of watching a Gerson video. I also liked that it has a 10 year warranty. I highly recommend this to everyone I talk to."
