Awesome Buy

Pros: tons of storage, cup/water bottle holders, comes with spray skirt paddle and car tie kit, knee pads and foot rests, nice seat
Cons: no paddle holder, no bulk head
" A great buy at a good price. As stated the kayak comes with a paddle, car kit, and a spray skirt. The paddle is nice and comes with drip guards; also it can be feathered. Over all, the paddle is pretty nice. The car kit is basically some straps with clamps in the end and some foam blocks. I have not used the foam blocks but the straps are easy to use. I was excited that it came with a spray skirt, but a little disappointed when I say it. It says its waterproof but I’m not sure. It’s a universal spray skirt so it’s oversized with a draw string. A plus is that it has a zipper for cockpit access.
On to the kayak itself. Firstly it’s really stable. The only way I foresee it flipping is in really rough water or strong intent (maybe not even then). I’ve only taken it on flat water as of now, but I can stand up in it if I want to so stability is great in my mind. Tracking (going straight) is not perfect but as expected of a boat this length, probably even better. Maneuverability is also great as turning takes little effort. You can get it up to a decent speed; I doubt you’d win in a race with some of the carbon fiber kayaks but look at the price your paying.
Onto the features. This kayak has three dry storage areas. A large bin with easy lock latches that leads into a dry bag, a medium dry hatch with easy to use lock latches that is molded plastic, and finally a small twist to open dry bag pouch in the cockpit to easily access essentials. The label does warn that they are not 100% waterproof, but they worked great for me.
The seat in this kayak is very nice. It’s soft and comfortable but yet firm and supportive enough to promote good paddling posture; I was very impressed and pleased with it, probably the nicest I have ever seen. Also great are the adjustable foot pegs and knee pads, both of which help to promote better posture and performance. They really do make a difference in my opinion/experience.
Unfortunately this boat does have some cons to it. More noticeably there is no paddle holder. Usually this is just a simple bungee cord and a hook, so I have no idea why such a nice boat like this would not have one. There is, however, molded hole that can be punched out to add one. Secondly, there is no bulk head. This is actually both good and bad, because while its adds more storage space behind the seat, it means that there is not that extra buoyancy in the event of capsize.
My overall advice is that if you are a beginner to intermediate paddler whose main activities take place in calm lakes, rivers, bays, or maybe up to class III rapids, this is a great boat for you. It’s a small, easy to manage kayak that comes with a lot of features normally found on much pricier boats. Considering the features and performance of this kayak I don’t think the price is bad at all. I am really pleased with this boat and would recommend it to any and all of my friends. I hope you find as much enjoyment in it as I have. Happy paddling!
(Sorry for the long review, I wanted to be as through as possible; hope it helped) "

Model Number: Pelican Quest 100
" Received it in good condition but some scrapes on the bottom of the hull due to delivery. It is a little wide for my 10 yr old but he'll grow into it. Very light to handle and paddle. The order was definitely long wait, ordered 7/03/12 and received on 7/24/12) There was an extra drill hole on the side deck that looks like the seat installer accidentally drilled and didn't even bother covering up. Luckily, I'll use the same hole to install the paddle clip on to it. I love the kayak but disappointed with the online ordering process to the delivery process. I would just go to a local store next time. "
