Fist week

Pros: picture, wifi, easy set up
Cons: slow channel change
"When I first brought this home, I was a little disappointed. I couldn't get the WIFI to work. The picture had a strange fishbowl effect on some channels and the Soap Opera Effect on several others. Giving the WIFI another try on the 2nd day it worked flawlessly (maybe I just had to turn the TV off and back on?). And I found someone posted the video settings to use to remove the Soap Opera Effect. This also resolved the curved fishbowl look on the other channels. So now the picture looks great, the WIFI and NETFLIX works. And I can access the ~200 movies on my network Seagate GOFLEX hard drive and watch them directly on the TV. While the sounds is OK, I'll be adding a sound system for more robust sound."

Excellent quality for the price

Pros: image color and quality unmatched at price, matte screen manages glare exceptionally well, relatively easy set-up with calibration settings
Cons: black level/uniformity could be better
Model Number: LC60C6400U
"Bottom line, excellent quality/size for the price. Purchased two days ago after extensive research and reviewing the, er, reviews, and side-by-side comparison of picture quality in the store. This TV does not have every bell and whistle (eg, 3D and overly extensive suite of apps), but the amount of 3D content and the viewing value of 3D is overrated (while 3D provides a "wow" value it does not add much to the overall enjoyment; the picture quality alone is sufficienty "wow" imho) and with a decent WiFi/Ethernet BD player (or ROKU) you'll have as much or more access to online services. The picture quality is quite good, equal to many of the Samsungs and better than many of the Vizios, at least to my eye, when comparing side by side in the store. Color and contrast is very good. The darkest blacks could be more uniform (a near universal problemn with *all* LCD screens except the most expensive ones, eg, Sharp Elite). Uniformity has only been noticable during all black beginning and end titles in a very dark theater room. The issues of uniformity have *not* been any problem during viewing in daylight/bright rooms, TV, and movie scenes. A huge advantage of this TV is the matte screen if you have it set up in a bright room where glare and reflections may be an issue. In the end, it was the picture quality and the matte screen that sold me on this TV over the Samsung with its glossy screen. The latter may help with the black levels, but the glare apparent in the store made it maddening to watch. Watching football games have been a revelation compared to our old rear-projection HDTV. The only image that hasn't tracked evenly were of air force fighters flying across Gotham in The Dark Knight Rises. Every other scene in TDKR was unbelievable. Even my wife who would watch nearly any image without complaint was stunned by the image quality. Overall, excellent quality for the price, allowing a bit leftover for highly recommended soundbar. (All LED/Plasma speakers suffer from lack of depth/size/mass, so a soundbar is a good middle-ground between the TV speakers and a full home theater system. The Yamaha ATS-1010 available at Costco was a great and affordable addition.) Setup is more than managable with a modest bit of common sense (e.g., what signal is going out and what signal is going in), and CNET (here: http://tinyurl.com/awrcrym) provides some handy calibration settings to improve the picture quality. Note, the CNET settings are optimized for a dark theater room, and we found them a bit too dark for our lighter room in which the TV is located. The settings noted by a user in another post in the thread may be more to your satisfaction.) I could not be more pleased as a whole, and for the value it arguably is unbeatable."

Bigger not always better...

Pros: plenty of connection options, nice appearance with small brushed bezel, internet apps were limited but worked for us, 70 inch fills up our big family room
Cons: picture quality inconsistent...lacked hd look, very slow wireless connection on you tube content
Model Number: LC-70C6400U
"The Sharp 70 inch 6400U LED TV was purchased in Sept. 2012. After tweaking and calibrating several times I gave up and returned and purchased a Samsung 65 inch with better picture quality.
The Sharp had some nice features, but at times seemed fuzzy and too grainy. I went back to the local Costco and compared the Sharp and Samsung side by side and decided to go with the Samsung.
As always Costco employees were great to work with on the selection and return process."

Disappointed

Pros: low energy consumption, great 1080p
Cons: poor 1080i, screen chops out part of the picture
Model Number: Lc60c6400u
"I just replaced a sharp aquos 52 inch 120hz with this 60 inch. The screen cuts out little things like the score thingy in a football game. I was impressed with the 1080p picture and turned off by the 1080i picture. Apparently the larger screen spreads the pixels or something and anything less than 1080p looks bad. My older 52 inch showed 1080i better. I have a yamaha av receiver that automatically upconverts to 1080i any signal that is less but it looks bad on this set. I suspect it is the larger screen because it was almost as good as the 1080p on the old set."

Disappointed

Pros: picture sound
Cons: power issues
Model Number: 60" Sharp Aquos
"Was in love with this TV right up until 4 months on it would not power up one morning. First repair tech said they could not help, the second tech said we can fix it. When the second techs brought it back it powered up just fine...until later that day I placed it back on the wall and POOF! No power.
The SECOND SET I bought of this same TV for my brother in law had the same problem but made it two more months longer than mine. So here I am to purchase a Samsung from Costco. May cost more, but you get what you pay for."

Pros: sound and color, solid base
Model Number: Sharp AQUOS 60" Class 1080p 120Hz Edge Lit LED™ LCD HDTV LC60C6400U
"I had planned on getting an LG but at the last minute looked at the Sharp and there was no comparison. The picture is excellent. The color is excellent. The sound is excellent. My only problem was in learning the controls which were new to me. I am a senior citizen and it did take some time but I am slowly learning them."

WORST PURCHASE

Pros: none
Cons: didnt work
"After much research we made the mistake and picked a Sharp product over Samsung.I wish I would of stuck with my gut feeling and purchased another Samsung instead. We picked up our first Sharp TV and brought it home. It was pretty easy to assemble and get set up. After 4 hours the TV just went blank. We packed it back up and returned to Costco. Costco was fantastic and getting us set up with another TV. We arrived home with 2nd Sharp TV. Within 30 minutes half of the screen had rolling white lines coming down the screen. 2 TV's in 2 days. We were done... We returned the Sharp TV back to Costco and went with Samsung. The Samsung TV has been working perfectly for several weeks."

Sharp Aquos 60 inch

"I am very very happy with the Sharp 60 inch TV that I ordered. I have 5 other Samsung TVS at home & this one is just as good if not a little better. The picture is very very clear. It is almost so clear it hurts my eyes. It was very easy with the up of customer service at Sharp to walk me through setting up the built in WIFI. I have not set it up to a computer right, but I am sure that is easy also. I set up the picture initially myself and that was very easy also. I am very very happy with this TV and also the service of the delivery people that Costco used. I would recommend this TV to anyone."

Amazing television

Model Number: LC-60C6400U
"I purchased this TV about a month ago and am still amazed at the picture quality. I only had to make a few adjustments to get the perfect picture for the space it is in. I found setting recommendations on another web sites product review section and followed those.
My friends are amazed at the picture quality as well. This TV is in a room with large windows as well as a sliding glass door and still has a great picture. My former TV was a 52 inch Sony HD and to watch the television I had to close the curtains or the picture would just wash out, not this TV.
I set up the TV for the sound to go through my receiver to the speakers and sub-woofer, to my delight I found that the TV speakers still work....so now the TV acts as the center channel speaker....amazing!!!"

not reliable. waiting to get replacement set

Pros: nice features and picture screen
Cons: sensitive defective electronics, slow processor that kept karaoke mike out of sync.
Model Number: LC-60C6400U
"Bought 3/4/12. Liked it quite a bit except for a few problems. When hooking up Karaoke mike (red-white-yellow RCA plugs), it seems to be processing the audio signal slow so out of sync. When you sing the words they don't come back thru the speaks until a fraction of a second after you speak them. Very annoying. After having it for about 2 months, the screen went blank while watching something on my MacBook pro attached to the TV set via HDMI adapter. Nothing would work. Finally tried unplugging set from wall for a while which seemed to reset it so I thought "okay, that's fine". THEN after 4 months (unfortunately so I could not haul it back to costco), the same thing happened but this time the unplugging routine didn't help. Called tech support and then walked me thru a reset procedure which seemed to fix the problem until I hung up the phone and then 5 minutes later the same thing happened. So I called back and this time they did a complete reset to original factory settings so I had to go thru the entire set up process which took over 1 hour to set everything up the way I had it before. Everything seemed fine until after work we were watching a 1 hour show and before the show was over...off the screen went. Nothing worked just like before. I am hoping that THIS time when I call (tomorrow morning), they will send me a NEW, non-defective set. I've only had this 4 months!!!!"

Decent - a few quibbles

Pros: price, costco-enhanced warranty, built-in wireless & netflix, decent sound & picture
Cons: web services are limited, slow to change channels
"This Sharp was the least expensive 60" set with built-in wireless internet at the time were shopped. It's basically fine, but there are a few areas it can improve. The most glaring is the junior-league web apps. Our $99 Roku player blows away this $1,399 television. We got a web-connected TV so we wouldn't need another Roku box, but I think we might get one anyway. Other than that - it takes a long time to switch channels, and the default picture setting is too dark. The picture is easily correctable."

Would be an awesome TV except...

Pros: pitcture quality, rear inputs
Cons: netflix doesn't really work, likes to reset your settings at random, cheaper than other 60" sets
Model Number: LC-60LE6400U
"Great picture quality. Lots of video adjustments. Enough inputs on rear (OK, it could use a second set of component in). Happy so far except that it's probably going to go back. One of the reasons that we bought it was for Netflix. Granted it works fine - when it works. It likes to deactivate every day (sometimes more than once) and that requires typing in your Netflix login info all over again. We've only had the TV for 2 weeks and resetting Netflix constantly is getting old. Before the experts jump in with help - The Sharp does NOT require a Netflix activation code, just your Netflix login. Anyway - Sharp should really get with the program, because the issue does not seem to be from Netflixs end - the Sharp just likes to keep losing the login info. In addition, there's the occasional decision by the Aquos to drop all your previous video settings and default. I seriously believe that there must be an issue with this particular set, although I've read other reviews where similar Aquos sets had the same issues. Also, do not believe for a minute that you will be able to have any internet access on this set. It does Netflix (kind of), Vudo, Youtube, etc., but don't expect to load a browser and start using Google. not going to happen.
Could have been a really awesome set - Please try harder Sharp."

Not great for sports.

"If you watch a lot of sports, skip this TV. The other reviewer is correct.
Baseball - double image of flyballs
Basketball - ok
Golf - double image of ball flying through the air
Hockey - double image of puck on quick passes and shots
If your not a sports nut, this tv is great for movies and regular programs."

After Many Comparisons

Pros: works great.
Cons: may be too complicated for my wife to run.
Model Number: LC-60C6400U
"This TV has all the options I was looking for, at a great price. The WIFI to enable web apps, and bult in tuner(s) are nice. Picture quality is great on Satellite or off the air. Sharp also has great warranty even if Costco didn't extend it! Bad thing was I had to find it online, since the local Costco only stocked more expensive TV's."
