Slow motion useless
Pros: time lapse and motion detecting recording.
Cons: video quality in slow motion is a joke., have to keep the screen open when monitoring
Model Number: EX250
"Video quality so so outdoor and indoor. Only last for one week, experiencing slow start and sometime have to remove the battery and reinsert to turn on the camcorder. Touch screen is not sensitive. The monitoring feature useless because the power shut off when the screen is closed."
"I am embarrassed to say it is almost too small for my hands. Record button is out of place when hand strap used. Remote control from Smartphone is nice. I am having problems with website to link to computer remotely. I like the camera, easy shooting video, has face recognition follows known subjects. Some extras would be better done with computer video editor. My package came with 4 GB SD, instead of 8 GB. Recommend finding spare battery."

Fairly good video with one major design flaw
Pros: picture resolution
Cons: impossible to see image in bright sun
Model Number: JVC GZ-EX2508GCH Camcorder
"I bought JVC GZ-EZ2508GCH to replace another JVC camcorder that I purchased in t 2001. I wanted more pixels for HD presentation. I ordered from Costco.com and received it promptly. I spent about 2 hours learning the controls which I found fairly straight forward. I took it on an outing to a local national park and took about 30 minutes of landscape, birds and sea. I quickly discovered that in bright daylight it is impossible to to see the image on the viewfinder. Therefore, I was taking video blindly. Since the unit does not have a viewfinder, there is no way of taking good video in bright light. It is shoot and hope. I returned after a week. The quality of the video image on playback was good. In low indoor light the color was not life like. The old JVC camcorder has a viewfinder and I never had any problem with shooting in any situation."

Just okay
Model Number: GZ-EX2508GCH
"Was excited to get this. Tried the wireless feature right away. Problem is that the range is not very good. Walked about 20 ft away and the signal dropped and had to start all over again. Great while it worked, but if you can't go too far then why bother? Only does AVCHD, so not too good for Mac users. Returned and now trying the Canon HFR300. Can record in MP4 so easier for Mac users. Seems like all reviews complain about battery life. I will test out and see. extra battery very expensive, so might just go with the Sony as battery life very long and extra battery much cheaper."

1-Touch mute button...
Cons: 1-touch mute button
Model Number: JVC GZ-EX250 (affects all in this series)
"Great camera & price. Comfortable to hold. HUGE 64GB max size memory card. Lots to like about this small camcorder. But, I returned it. One major design flaw is their "1-touch mute" button. If it would only mute the annoying beeps, that would be great. But it also dims the LCD display, and that cannot be manually changed in any other settings (I called JVC to confirm). The dim display is very difficult to see in any type of lighted environment (fine in the dark). This feature is on most of the JVC camcorders in this series. I personally do not like (in fact, they annoy the heck out of me!) all of those “beeps & tones” every time the LCD screen is touched or a setting is changed."

Cons: none so far
"This camera size is what attracted me. Very compact super high quality video. Takes still shots as well. WFI works great also. No need to take any other camera when you have this one. Download to your computer burn to DVD. email video with WfI"
