Moisturisation + Exfoliation at its best = Amlacti

Pros: moisturises, no need for application more than once a day, exfoliates, non-greasy, non-comedogenic, quick result, long lasting effect
Cons: urine-like smell, no fragrance
"best bet for the money.. will continue to both use it and also tell friends and family about it's benefits.
The only problem with it is the urine-like smell, for which i mix it with a little bit of any fragrant lotion.

High Price For Nothing Special

Cons: smells no so great, greasy, does not hydrate well, expensive
"I had high hopes for this lotion seeing that it was so expensive and that so many people spoke highly of it. I figured being that it was so expensive, it probably worked like no other lotion! Unfortunately it turned to be as good as any other much less expensive lotion AT BEST. I bought it for my wife who has eczema but she didn't like it at all. For one she hates the smell. Says it reminds her of Hair Dye. I personally don't mind it. We both think it feels greasy. It does not penetrate your skin easily. It's not as bad as, say Petroleum Jelly where it just sits on top of your skin, but it doesn't hydrate either. If it weren't so expensive I'd say it was an okay lotion, but because of it's price, I'd say it's flat out subpar. For us personally at least."

The Best

Pros: non-greasy doesn't flake off
"I have severely dry skin and for years I had used lanolin-based products such as Keri Lotion. These products are greasy - your sheets and clothes get greasy, and the product flakes off in a shower of snowflakes when you take off your clothes. In 1990 I finally listened to my doctor and bought some what was then called "Lac Hydrin" and was only available by RX. After a week I noticed my skin was healing and felt much better. No more grease and no more flaking. I have used it daily ever since. Apply to damp skin immediately after shower - this will seal in the moisture. Enjoy!"

Excellent Product for your skin

Pros: moisturizes and softens skin
Cons: will sting if used on broken skin
"I have been using Amlactin for several months now. I've tried many lotions and creams but find Amlactin to be the best that I've used. My dermatologist recommended I try it for some rough patches on my arms. I noticed an improvement in my skin after a few weeks of use. It is softer, more moisturized and even some sun damage looks improved. I have not had any itching or flaking which generally happens during heating season. It does not have a great fragrance, but it dissipates quickly and I don't think it's that bad anyway. I find that it rubs in quickly and my skin feels nice and smooth."

wonderful product, good value

Pros: it works
Cons: good value for the money
"This lotion is very good hydrating and nourishing the skin. It helps with minor itching and back-acne. It really exfoliates and helps taking "stuff" out."

It Really Works

"Many lotions are touted as solutions for dry and extra dry skin. Most simply do not help at all--at least not for me. I have severely dry skin which runs in my family. It flakes and cracks. It's both unsightly and also uncomfortable. AmLactin actually works to keep my skin looking and feeling normal and healthy. I've used it since it came on the market several years ago. In addition, Costco has the best price anywhere, and it comes in a larger size than you can get anywhere else. I highly recommend it."

AmLactin lotion

"AmLactin lotion was recommended by my dermatologist when I had a severe allergic reaction to a drug that turned my feet red and exfoliated the skin. A daily application of AmLactin on my feet was highly successful in healing the skin on my feet. It gets rid of dead skin and promotes regeneration of normal skin."

Great Product--Do NOT have it shipped by Costco!

Pros: great for cracked heels
Cons: poorly packaged for shipment.
"Amlactin is great for keeping your heels nice and summery smooth! My only recommendation is to pick this up at your local Costco. I had it shipped to my home and it was a leaky mess. No fault of the product, just poor packing."

Best Lotion

Pros: heals dry flaky skin
"I have severe dry & flaky skin, this lotion works. I have been using it for over 8 years however just started using it daily over the past year and the difference is amazing. You have to learn to use just a little bit otherwise you are greasy. The key is really using just a bit, and with this lotion a little bit goes a long way. The acidic smell goes away after about an hour. I also mix a little bit with my face moisturizer. Costco has by far the best price for the lotion compared to grocery or pharmacy stores."

It's the lactic acid - not the parabens

"Lactic acid breaks down to alpha hydroxy acid(s) with exfoliating properties to soften skin. Paraben(s) functions as preservative in most lotions or creams. Lactic acid is the key ingredient - not the parabens as commented by other reviewer. Besides Amlactin contains higher content of lactic acid than do the Eucerin products."

has parabens

"Too bad the reason this is so creamy and helps make skin so soft is that it has Methylparaben, Propylparaben which we know to avoid."

Does what it says

Pros: big bottle for the price works well
"I use it on my knees and elbows and it really has helped them become smoother and softer. My husband, who I orginally bought this for, has had a lifelong problem with razor burn on his neck. I have bought him everything and anything to try. This works the best, even better than RX products his doctor has prescribed. We are very happy with it and definitely recommend the product. We have not noticed any issue with the smell as someone else stated. I'm sensitive to smells and I don't think it has a scent at all. Does sting when putting on freshly shaven skin but it has even prevented razor burn for me."

Great moisturizer!

"I've been using this moisturizer for a week, on my legs and arms, and the texture of my skin has dramatically changed. I have very dry skin, and my skin is much more smoother, and more hydrated. I would recommend this to everyone."

It Works!

Pros: you will see results
Cons: doesn't "feel" good like other moisturizers
"I have cracked heels and get extremely dry skin in the winter. If you use this product after using clearisil pads on your heels it will literally heal your cracked skin. My dermatologist recommended this product and after seeing Dr. Oz say that the clearisil pads followed by a great moisturizer would eliminate cracked heels, I thought I'd give it a try. Glad I did, it works!"

Great for dry skin

"I get razor bumps after shaving my legs. They would itch and drive me nuts. Also joined by dry skin during the winter and it all adds up to a nasty, irritating combo for me. I was told about this product by my dermatologist. he gave me a sample packet to try and it had great results! It does sting a bit on first applying it, especially if you have any broken skin. But then it sinks in and moisturizes and soothes wonderfully. I buy it only from costco, they have the best price anywhere."

This stuff works!

Pros: not greasy absorbs easily works!!!
Cons: funny smell but not insurmountable
"I was having trouble with ingrown hairs and bumps on my legs and arms, and this has helped a lot. I noticed that my hands were a lot softer as well, even though I wasn't intentionally using it on them, they were only getting it by default."
