Tremendous Value!

Pros: value value value!
"I was looking for a camera backpack and compact tripod combo and for the money this combination can not be beat. Key features for me for the backpack are the side access points to the bag's main body. These allow me to flip the bag around and quickly access my camera. I was worried the DK-10 would be too small, but would say it is only slightly smaller than your average size backpack . It easily holds my Nikon 5100 with a 55-300mm lens mounted. In fact, since I currently have only two lenses for my camera the bag is almost too big. To compensate, I keep my second lens in the lens bag provided (a total bonus to be included at this price) in the main compartment. If I add another lens or flash, etc., I'll be able to use the lens bag to attach one lens to the side of the bag. Unless you're a pro, I can't imagine the average dslr family/amateur photographer needing more space. I keep extra accessories, cords, battery charger etc., in the top compartment. It would be nice if the top compartment floor was sewn on all sides, but as it is only small items like a memory card can slide through on the sides, and there are dedicated pouches in the top compartment for those items. The tripod straps are nice, with the bottom cup disappearing entirely into its own compartment when not in use. The top strap clips onto the front of the bag, which unfortunately has some give and allows the top of the tripod to hang out and away from the bag. That problem can be fixed however by using the bag's top handle to loop the top tripod strap through which then holds the tripod to the bag tightly. Either way the tripod is not going anywhere, but I prefer it to be as tight to the bag as possible. I've only worn this bag for a couple hours but the straps contour to your shoulders and have plenty of nice padding.
The tripod is a quality tripod with tons of features. It has it's own separate bag which allows you to carry it separately if you're not toting the backpack and is just a nice storage bag in general. I just got this kit, but already like the snapping legs, quick release plate, and ball head movement. The tripod feels steady and comes with a weight hook that your bag can be attached to for extra stability."

Great for video

Pros: 60d with lens fits in the top compartment.
Cons: no small pockets on the outside for glasses
Model Number: GX600B200
"I'm using this tripod for video. I'm able to pan and adjust smoothly. This tripod works better than the first tripod I purchased and took back to Costco after a few days. The tripod is worth the money to me without the backpack. I prefer the backpack over my two camera bags."

Very Happy

"Just got it and really like the craftsmanship and quality of the products.
The compartments make sense and things are laid out in a roomy yet tight way so things feel secure.
Didn't give it a five because have not had it long."

Excellent combo for camping

Pros: good value for price, tripod is stable enought for canon 50d
Cons: back pack is a tight fit for 3-4 lenses
"I bought this combo for my Canon 50D and multiple L lenses. I needed a new camera backpack. So while looking around I saw this combo. I decided to take the plunge since it was not only in my price range but included a tripod and lens case as well. Well I just came from my trip to Yosemite and the tripod and the backpack and held up nicely. It was a bit tight to fit my 300mm F4L but I put it on the top compartment and it fit well. Overall I would recommend this for any weekend or day hike."

Excellent tripod and bag

Pros: low angle shoots, scratch ressistance tripod, tall, very stable, bag is heavy duty and spacious, bag have duel use of sling or backpack style, multiple compartments access for backpack, lens pouch is a bonus, price is a steal, tripod is not heavy around 3lbs
Cons: not much i can think of yet
Model Number: DKGX600WB4000
"To clarify another review, the quick release plate for the tripod is nicely built. It has a safety lock feature to prevent camera from falling and it only requires a couple practice to get use to the lock and you don't really need a user manual to learn how to use this tripod. This type of safety features are all similar for most pro tripods and I don't think it can be considered as a con if one just need to get use to it. Overall, this bundle has an unbelievable price since each individual product are being sold separately at a cost that is close to this bundle."

Good Value & Good Tripod

Pros: lightweight tripod legs spread @ variable angles, roomy bag with special strap for tripod
Cons: knobs of ball head difficult to access & handle
Model Number: Dolica 60" Aluminum Tripod GX600B200
"I bought this tripod mainly for my Canon 60D and my 18-200mm lens which the tripod handles just fine. The legs can be spread at different angles, making them easy to adjust for uneven terrain.
The flip locks are easy & quick to snap into place. The center column could be taken out, allowing the tripod to be splayed low for any low angle & macro photography.
However I don't like the ball head knobs which can be difficult to access and tighten, especially the one for the quick release plate, which is positioned right under the camera without much clearance.
The bag is roomy for my gear, and can accommodate the tripod easily. I like the backpack style as it is out of the way when I'm shooting."

Great tripod & clever backpack

Pros: price, features
Cons: smallish laptop pouch
"I don't know a ton about tripods, but for the price, this one seems awesome. The only thing its really missing is a horizontal level, which doesn't really matter to me, as I can manipulate my photos.
Back pack is clever, good storage, but the "16" laptop pouch is a misnomer (hence the -1 star)... my Mac Air doesn't fit into the pouch.
Overall a GREAT value."

Poor Quick Plate

Pros: inexpensive
Cons: terrible quick release plate
Model Number: Dolica DK-10
"This would be a great value if the Quick Release Plate was half-way decent. It is very difficult to use because you have to line it up and slide it into some grooves without being able to see what you are doing. The plate itself is very small which is fine for a compact camera but anything bigger does not have enough of a footprint. The tripod itself seems sturdy though I doubt it could hold the 15 lbs it claims and the hook at the bottom is great for adding counterbalancing weight. If only the quick release plate was usable."
