Good Value Hot Tub

Model Number: Newporter ll
"I've had this hot tub for about three weeks and so far, so good. The tub was delivered in about two weeks after ordering so that was nice. It was set up and plugged in easily. A minor glitch of the steps and colored lenses not being delivered was cleared up in about a week - not a big problem. When you order, just make sure everything the current ad states is supposed to come with it does indeed get delivered.
I am using the tub at 110 V. which works fine for me in a hot desert climate. 104 is actually a bit too hot and I run it about 95 or somewhat lower. The tub holds the heat in well with little to no loss, but that may differ if you live in a super cold climate. For me, it's more than adequate from a heating standpoint.
The cover included with the tub appears to be of good quality and gets the job done.
The jet strength is fine for me. I didn't want super powerful jets anyway and these are perfect for my needs. The hydrotherapy jet is VERY strong so that's MORE than enough massage action.
The other jets are okay too. If your goal is to have full throttle super intense jets going all at once, this tub won't do that, but many people find they don't like that type of thing after they get it.
The controls are simple to use and figure out so even if you've never owned a hot tub before (I hadn't) you should have no problem with it.
The ad says it fits 5 but I'd say that's pushing it a bit. Four would be more like it, and three would be perfect so everyone has their own space. But I suppose you could fit 5 smaller people in from time to time if you wanted to. .
The instruction book could have been a bit more specific about some of the other energy settings. I haven't quite figured that out yet. It may require opening up the panel and setting some switches. So far, I haven't tinkered with anything inside. I also haven't received my first electric bill so will update later on that. The tub stays plugged in 24/7 and turns on/off in response to keeping it hot up to the temperature you set.
Another reviewer said the tub was loud or running all the time. Yes, it will turn on/off like a thermostat type of setup, but I haven't found it to be an annoyance. Like any piece of machinery, it will make a low hum when it turns on, but nothing objectionable. However, you should decide the best place to put it so that it doesn't disturb you . Don't put it under a bedroom window or something of that sort. I actually found it to be quieter than I figured it would be, so I'm pleased from that standpoint.
The tub paneling looks a bit lightweight so I wouldn't recommend screwing something into it. If you want to put on a cover lifter, use the type that slips under the tub itself rather than putting holes into the tub paneling. No big deal, but just my observation to maybe insure no problems that you don't need from making screw holes in the cabinet.
It's a comfortable, good value tub for the money and unless something changes, I've been pleased with my purchase and am enjoying it nearly every day/night.
I like the open seating where people can hang out in the round tub and relax. . There's been no defects or problems with the tub to this point.

Not good

Pros: inexpensive
Cons: cheap
Model Number: newporter
"I was very disappointed with the quality of this tub. Cheap in price and quality. No circulation pump so the main pump comes on every 2 hours day and night to keep the spa warm. Noisy when the pump runs so it woke us up. Manual very sketchy. No valve on the drain line so it splashed all over the place when I emptied the tub.
Costco was very helpful and we are satisfied with customer service, we never heard from the manufacturer so we returned the tub

lovely

Pros: relaxing, not public, quiet
Cons: none so far
"Bought the Newporter on kind of a whim. It seemed like a good price although we determined that it was a good value after purchased. Also, after deciding to play it safe by reinforcing the deck ($750) and installing a new electrical line from the box ($800) and waiting for the tempature to reach 101 degrees, I am really a satisfied customer. My wife is also happy about it but had to wait to see if the deck survived, no electric shock or fires occured before her approval."

You will love this

Pros: roomy and easy to operate
Cons: none so far
Model Number: Newporter
"I have wanted a spa for a gazebo in my back yard for some time. I had looked at a two-person spa several times but was not convinced it was the right fit for the location. I had electrical already in the gazebo so a plug and play spa was a natural. I ordered the spa on a weekend and it was delivered in less then a week. It arrived well packaged on a pallet and the delivery service was very cooperative. They delivered on the prearranged time and with in 5 minutes the package was sitting in my driveway. It took four people to move the spa to my gazebo but once positioned, it was so easy to start up. I have not observed any flaws or issues and have used it for two weeks. It took 24 hours to heat the water from 60 F to 100 F. It maintains the set temperature and automatically circulates and filters the water. Sitting in the spa, the jets are well placed and strong enough. I believe this is a great value."

Love this spa after 3 years!

Pros: low price easy set-up, great cust. service, very easy on the electric bill
Cons: none
Model Number: Round Aqua Terra
"We wanted a traditional looking round hot tub and could not have made a better choice! Now going on 3 years since purchase and no problems! After using so many of our friends spa's, we decided we did not want something so strong you have to "brace yourself" just to stay in your seat. This one is just right, quiet enough to enjoy conversation and very low maintenance since we opted for the ozonater, so glad we did, much less chlorine use. We also got an extra filter so we could just switch out and soak the other; they are both still going strong. We use our tub summer & winter on 110 electric and never lose more than 2 degree's even in the dead of winter. We also opted for the LED color change feature which is nice since you can easily pick your color and is great when you have friends over. We use almost daily and never have a problem with dirt collecting; it always seems to end up in the filter basket. You can't go wrong at this price! At our door and set up in hours & ready to use the next day! And you can't go wrong with the cedar color shell and white speckled tub, no colors to fade out & will never go out of style."

Bad Customer Service

Model Number: Plug-N-play
"The tub was fine. Heated great. However mine started leaking immediately. I called customer service, they said they would get back to me, but I could "turn the tub over" and "check the connections" Ok, so I did turn it over. Well I couldn't by myelf, had to get neighbors to help me... twice. There is no way to "check" the connections because the whole thing is filled in with hard insulated foam. So, I emailed the company who said they would try and get a service person out. I had to call again, and was told I lived in too rural of an area. I emailed again. They said they would contact me. I finally had to "load" it up and take it back to Costco myself. Never did hear back from the company. SO my warning... it is a nice tub for the price. But buyer beware!!... it is cheap for a reason. You can't access anything on the unit. It has no access door, and there is no way to fix anythig yourself. If you live rural... beware!
Oh, and forget about the extra options you have pre-installed... you just donated it back!

PERFECT SPA

"This is our third spa and perfect for my wife and I now the kids are gone. Moving into a new house in an upscale neighborhood we wanted a classy looking spa that operated on a 110 electrical outlet. The spa maintains the heat setting and is easy to maintain. We also bought the handrail to help in getting in and out, the steps, and the cover assist. They all work together well.
Customer service was fantastic and helped us get the spa on time for visiting family. We're thrilled with the product and service.

Love it!

Model Number: Newporter Spa
"Received the spa in less than 2 weeks. Forgot to order the oxonator within 72 hours (so they could ship at the same time) but was able to install it all by myself (with the help of Tom of course). The customer service is the best I have ever experienced and the spa is just perfect. Not a lot of bells and whistles...just what I was looking for. There are 3 different levels of seating and the jets are powerful enough. I don't like jets that make my body sting or go numb and this one fits the bill. I had a few issues with setup (my electrician's deal) and Tom worked with me via text and photos to resolve the issue. I was able to fix the light, install the ozonator, and handle the circuit board all in a matter of minutes. I highly recommend this spa and this company to anyone seeking a low maintenance, nice looking, and functional hot tub. The service is awesome."

Newporter Great Value

Pros: value
Cons: access door
Model Number: Plug n play 110 v
"Pleased with the spa's use and function. Fedex driver above and beyond service. Drawback is service panel's 12 screws to access inoperative lt bulb. Minor yet cumbersome access. Need to redesign a ready access door without 12 screws such as a snap on? Heat took awhile but stays right on setting. Do a better access door, please."

Good Product, Good Purchase

Pros: easy delivery easy roll to location., easy installation and start-up., nice size for my needs., seems well made.
Cons: digital read-out hard to see in daylight., digital panel mounted for use from in spa.
Model Number: Aquaterra Newporter
"Easy to order on line. Aquaterra Customer Service Rep very helpful. Packed well for delivery. Had 4 helpers, including electrician, for placement and set up. Was able to roll the spa -- it's well protected -- across a lush lawn to its location at the rear of our home. But it's a five-man lift and place. Had ours rigged for a 220 line for our cold winter climate. No access panel on bottom, so electrician had to cut a 2" access hole to run the electric line to the electric box in the spa's equipment bay -- pretty easy. Easy start up, too -- no leaks and everything appears to be working properly. It's summer in Maryland, so will have to wait till cold weather to determine how effectively the spa maintains warm water temps. Jets don't appear to be as forceful as a larger spa that I owned previously. Nice cover, nice side paneling."

Good price, good service

"This is a very basic budget hot tub, but well worth the price if that is what you want. It seems reasonably well built and is fairly small, but comfortable for 2-4 good friends. It fits almost anywhere and the 110 volt option means that it can plug into existing outlets. At 110 volts, It doesn't maintain its temperature very well, but again, you get what you pay for.
We had a problem with ours two months outside the warranty period and the company took care of it anyway. I am deeply impressed with their customer service. I cannot think of the last time that happened with any other company.
Bottom line: nice, basic hot tub. Nothing fancy, but perfect for relaxing under the stars on a cool evening."

Exceeds my expectations big time!

Pros: round shape and single continuous bench seat
Model Number: 27237
"BEFORE THE FIRST SPLASH--The tub arrived quickly and the FedEx man was happy to bring it up my long country driveway. My electrician did a 220 conversion and the tub heated to 104 in a single afternoon. It holds its temperature fine here in the Texas Hill Country--no matter how much splashing. Aquaterra technical support has answered all my many, many setup questions, so don't fret too much about the instruction manual's limitations.
FABULOUS FUN--This hot tub doesn't tell you where to sit--you can sit anywhere and scoot everywhere at will. So great to play in! I absolutely love the round bench seat. You can exercise, launch yourself off a side, submerge in the middle, or make white-water ocean turbulence with the big jet and let it swirl you around the tub. If you stick out a hand and then a foot, the propulsion can take you all the way around! And, people can sit side-by-side anywhere in the tub. The rotating colored lights are so gala--definitely worth the investment.
VALUE--More than my money's worth. I didn't need to spend another dollar. I named this wonderful tub Ovum. She is generative and nurturing--a source of creativity and renewal. I recommend her highly.

Good Deal

Pros: price, quiet, convertible to 220v, nice size
Cons: some jets are a little weak
Model Number: Newporter
"FedEx delivered in about 13 days. It was slowed down though because the confirmation from the manufacturer ended up in my junk email and I didn't see it until they called me 5 days after the order. The pallette was falling apart but the tub wasn't damaged and the FedEx guy helped me get it in the garage. I'm 6'4" and 215. I moved the tub by myself. Rolled it to its new home (no steps or large hills) Takes two people to set down unless you have a really good back. The foam insulation job is a little sloppy but I'm very particular. The pump and control are good name brands. Filled with 49 degree water it took two days to heat to 100 degrees plugged into 110. Nice quiet two speed pump. Sat in it for 15 minutes last night with high speed and didn't drop below 100. The jets are a little weak but there is one large jet which makes up for it. You can adjust them quite easily. I'm tall and I fit okay. Overall nice tub for the price. Not disappointed. Would recommend."

Excellent Buy

Pros: easy setup, easy use, outstanding value
Cons: no startup chemicals, ozonator is add on, steps not included
Model Number: AquaTerra Spas Newporter
"Bought this as a theraputic aid for back and shoulder. Has dramatically helped. Was concerned buying sight unseen. After reading reviews and confirming the return policy, I went for it. I needed a round tub to fit a specific area where I wanted to place this spa. FedEx called and scheduled delivery approx 2 weeks after placing order. They delived at their scheduled day / time and placed in a good spot. It is delivered on a pallate wrapped in cardboard and shrinkwrap with the cover in a separate box. You need at least three, perferably four to easily move the spa into place. After filling the tub and using the 110v plug, it took just under 48 hours to reach 100 degrees. Jets work well, are quiet and controls are easy. Thinking about converting to 220v to speed up (4x) heating process and adding the ozonator. Description is misleading regarding the ozone jet, which is not an ozonator. Steps are not included, so plan on buying those also. Overall, very staified and a great value. Checked several local dealers, none could touch the price / value."

Very Good For Price

"I bought this spa online based on good internet reviews and its relatively low price. It arrived 12 business days later after a long trip from California to rural Virginia via FedEx. The protective shipping packaging (heavy shrink wrap, foam and cardboard) was excellent and made placement, without damaging the spa, on a raised deck easier. Three strong or two very strong people are needed to move it, unless you have a mechanical lift. It is not too heavy, but it is big. My wife and I would not have been able to install it unaided. The controller/heater and motor/pump components are quality name brands. I wired it for 240 volts given the cold winter climate of VA (usually less than 40 deg F). In a colder climate, a 1kw heater would be too weak for year-round outdoor use. Less than 9 hours after turning it on, the water temperature had risen from 40 to 102 deg with an outside temperature of about 20 deg. The single turbo whirlpool jet is powerful, more powerful than most of the jets on my old HotSprings Spa. It is located to hit the lower or mid back of most people. The other jets are relatively mild. Seating positions are comfortable. I don't regret not getting a spa with a "lounger" seat. For a lower priced spa, its appearance is good. It is simple, but not cheap appearing. In a nice neighborhood, the neighbors should not complain about the appearance of the spa itself. The cover is well made and well insulated. The heat of the spa snow did not melt an overnight snowfall. It has now been running for a week without any problems. Overall, I am very happy with the AquaTerra Newporter. Comparatively, I think it is a bargain."

Good Value

"After owning several spas over the years we knew our needs well. This spa fills our needs and works great. We had the 220V hooked up which heats the spa very quickly. Customer service is very good if you have any questions. We live in Washington State and this spas maintains its heat very well and doesn't cost much to run even in winter."
