The Thermal-Aid heating and cooling packs are engineered to eliminate pain and swelling from arthritis, sports injuries, and more. These products range in size and can be used as hot or cold therapy packs. The packs can be heated in the microwave and cooled in the freezer and are made from 100% natural cotton and a heating/cooling element composed of a specially engineered corn. Unlike other natural packs, Thermal-Aid packs are washable, which allows you to use them repeatedly.
Thermal-Aid heating and cooling packs were developed by bio-engineers and doctors that worked closely with milling experts using a unique patented process, which removes the embryo/germ tip cap and outer coat from each kernel of corn. This leaves the purest and cleanest portion of the corn product. This process hardens the specialized de-germinated corn, allowing it to hold temperatures evenly for long periods of time. It also eliminates mold, fungi and foul odors often associated with natural heating/cooling products.
Uses:
Arthritis, back pain, muscle soreness, menstrual cramps, neck pain, carpal tunnel, headaches and migraines, sprains/strains, sunburn, fever, stomach aches and flu symptoms, bug bites, lactation, babies with colic (under adult supervision), multiple sclerosis and growing pains.
Heating:
Place on a clean surface in the center of the microwave for approximately 2 to 4 minutes.
Cooling:
Place in the freezer for 6 or more hours.

CAUTION:
Do not overheat! Follow directions exactly as printed on enclosed instructions. Use caution when removing the Thermal-Aid treatment pack from microwave. If overheated, use oven mitts or a towel to safely remove from microwave. Extra caution should be taken by those who suffer from diabetes, nervous systems disorders, circulatory disorders or other disorders that cause impairment. Do not use if temperature is uncomfortable. Not for use by individuals with corn allergies.
CHOKING HAZARD: If given to a child, use caution; this product contains small pieces that can cause choking. Children 3+ should be supervised when using this product. Not recommended for children under 3 years of age.

"Some of the negative aspects in other reviews are exactly what I like about this product- the weight makes it stay in place. Nothing worse than a flimsy pack and that this is not! All of the positives- stays warm ( I don't use it for cold). Love the neck pack too."

Wonderful Moist Heat

"This product is fabulous! It stays warm for a long time, and delivers a pleasant, soothing moist heat for pain relief. I feel like the warmth goes deeper to relieve pain, in comparison with my electric heating pad.
It is versatile and heats up quick in the microwave. Yes, it is a bit heavy, but that doesn't bother me. It conforms well to your body. It does have a unique (but not unpleasant) odor when heated (kind of like the smell of rice)."

Cons: bulky and hard to keep in place, does not work well when used as cold therapy, not really washable
"As an individual who has had multiple orthopedic injuries and surgeries to deal with I am always looking for a better cold or hot pack. I was excited when I read about this one. I found the pack was not very good as a cold pack. It did better retaining the heat when used for heat therapy. The bag was rather bulky and had no straps to keep it in place which made it more difficult to use. I also liked the fact that it was washable but found out that means running the outside cover under water but not immersing. There is no way to remove inside packets to wash cover as is the case on other packs I have. I would not purchase another and am considering returning this one. Very disappointed."

Love this
"Okay, I am a fan of this particular line of products as I have purchased all of them since Christmas. Finally I purchased this one for me and I love it. It maintains heat very well and I would suggest starting out slowly with the time you heat it and adjusting upwards if you need more heat. I love how it easily drapes my neck/shoulders and penetrates my aches and pains. I have even used it as a foot warmer under the covers on an especially chilly evening. Worked great!"

Large size is too large

"I purchased this for my husband. I have something smaller that I got from my physical therapist that works great but we needed a second one. This has a nice natural smell to it and retains heat fairly well but the size is too large. We have to fold it into an arch to get it to fit in the microwave and it takes about 4 1/2 minutes to reach proper heat. A smaller version would be perfect (not available when I ordered). Otherwise I would have given 5 stars."

So good I had to buy more
"I purchased one of these for a Christmas gift - in the medium size - and returned after my son raved about it to purchase two of the large ones. The only possible problem I could foresee is if you have a smaller microwave you might want to go with the medium size. It heats superbly and holds heat for a longer time than others I have purchased in the past. If you buy 2 of these you can lay down and have your entire back effected."

"Gave this to my son this Christmas and he loved it. He had back surgery and said this is better than any of these type items he has used in the past. Great warmth and maintains the heat really well. Am back to buy more...I don't think anyone will be disappointed with this."
