LOW Sodium (5mg); Cooks in Minutes--Not Hours!
Pros: reduces cooking time to minutes not hours, saves fuel energy in disaster or camping situation, true pinto bean flavor, low sodium (5 mg) for heart-healthy diets, versatile can season to preference, high protein high fiber
"I bought this for three reasons: super low sodium (5mg); it cooks in minutes, not hours; Mylar packaging into smaller units that doesn't leave the entire bucket exposed to light, humidity, degradation of any kind.
The flavor is that of true pinto beans, which makes it versatile for seasoning to your preference--or not, since some people (like me) are happy with just the plain and pure pinto bean flavor.
The beans hold their shape, but the texture doesn't have the firm "bite" that some people prefer. But in an emergency or camping situation, saving hours of cooking time and fuel energy overrides the slightly mushy texture.
These, of course, would be great over rice with a little cheese to top it off, or seasoned like traditional chili with added beef, etc."
