Good value for the money
"Purchased this laptop for my developmentally disabled adult son - and it is working out great. I purchased a Dell Inspirion for myself late last year and it too has performed well. It is a good value for the money."

great general purpose laptop
Pros: all really good h/w and ports love the 1tb hdd, love the 8gb of memory too., good support and final solution for backup copy.
Cons: s/w for backup dvd creation didn't work.

"Good, fast H/W, but had a problem making backup DVDs since none comes with it. It's very fast, has a good clean display and runs nice and cool. Would have liked to have a faster video card option built in but since I don't play games it wasn't a big deal. Also like the ports, 2 usb3, one usb2, and one combo usb/esata. Ports won the day over an HP laptop since there's no way any more to add on h/w you don't have on the MB already."

Love the speed!
Pros: great screen size, fast uploads
Cons: lack of advertised blue ray
"Overall, I'm very happy with this laptop which is a replacement for my seven year old desktop - tons more memory, much faster and easy to navigate (which for a computer "idiot"like me is much appreciated!)
The only disappointment is the fact that this particular model was advertised as having Blue Ray when in actual fact is does not. However since I rarely if ever watch movies on the computer, it is not that big a deal."

Economical Choice
Pros: 8gb ram but shared, price is very affordable, multi-touch track pad for mac-like scrolling, fairly slim for not-a-mac, shipped out quickly
Cons: no back-lit keyboard, poor color fidelity, really stiff lid hinge, oh and no stinkin' backlit keyboard!!, 5400 rpm hd

"Thank God for Ubuntu 12.04. I couldn't get Windows 7 off of it fast enough. This is a great developer's laptop. Lots of RAM for memcached, MySQL, running processes. Not a high end gaming machine. Not too plastic/fisher price feeling, but not rock solid like a MacBook.
If like me, you plan to ditch Windows ASAP, do NOT get the 'free' virus protection software. You still have to pay TAXES on the 'free' software.
Viewing angle is a bit bright in patches, which throws off colors."

Absolute Garbage!
Model Number: Inspiron N7010
"Had this PC for 14 months and the motherboard crashed - just out of warranty, so Dell wants $400 to fix it. This is the 2nd Dell I've owned and the last. Their computers are junk! Buyer Beware!"
