Fits older devices - not my new phone & iPad

Pros: wish i could get it but the adapter is precarious
Cons: apple adapter is precarious; used, on other mfr's dock & ipad wants to fall off
"Caution: This has the older Apple connector. NOT the Lightning which the iPhone 5 and New Generation iPad have."

Best in Class

Pros: 6" subwoofer on back, 3/4" tweeter and 5" mid range, slick "theater like" design, remote with every button you could need, fills just about any room with crystal clear sound, affordable
Cons: dock only compatible with apple products
Model Number: 40iK5
"Out of this world full range speaker system! Outstanding high range and plenty of low range to recreate the lower frequency."

Love It !

Pros: great sound. easy to use.
Cons: wish it had a fitted cover.
Model Number: iK5
"This Kicker replaces a Bose unit that we use in an outdoor room. The sound is great. The buttons for volume +/-, mute,
aux are large and easy to access. The surprise bonus for us was being able to use our ipad as the media database. So easy.

Well Worth The Price!

Pros: price, sound, craftmanship
Cons: no display
"I was in need of a docking system and decided to wait a month for the Kicker Amphitheater to be released (the wait seemed much longer). I do not regret my decision at all. It is a very well priced item that delivers across the board. The dedicated bass unit is POWERFUL, I keep the base turned all the way down and it still delievers a punch. The mid and high ranges are crisp and clear even at high levels, everything is well balanced. I have played a wide variety of genres, and they all come out clear. Aesthetically it is a beautiful piece with a clean design. One thing that I wish it had was some sort of led display to show the current volume, song, artist ect. I have already gotten used to not having it as the controller is well designed and quite helpful. A friend of mine has already ordered one and I would recommend it to everyone."

The docking pin is too short and feels fragile.

Pros: price, looks sleek
Cons: pin height too short, pin feels fragile, no blutooth, usb port only charges doesn't provide playback
"I got a great deal on this. Paid $99 on costco.com. Even with the significant discount I am considering returning it. The sound doesn't blow my mind. It doesn't get very loud in my opinion.
However, the bigger issue for me is the docking pin. It is so short that I have to remove my bumper from my iphone. I have never had to remove the bumper to dock my phone on other devices because it is so thin and has a huge cutout where the port is. There is not a case or bumper in existence that will be compatible with this dock, it will have to be removed. Or an extender purchased.
The pin does have a tilt feature which I know will help the pin not to snap off but because it is set so deeply you really have to push to get the pin set tightly into the port (mind you this is without a case on) and I'm not sure that this will stand up to regular use past maybe 6 months or so. It just feels so sketchy to me. I'm surprised this hasn't been mention in the other reviews.
