Assembled in the USA!!

Pros: very affordable for the size. us assembled., works well with 360 and ps3
Cons: limited information online
Model Number: ELDFQ501J
"It is great to see a TV manufacturer ready to put Americans back to work. I have just finished setting up my TV and I am left in awe that this level of quality can be had for such a reasonable price. I was a bit skeptical about moving forward with the purchase after reading the previous negative reviews, but I am glad that I did not let them discourage me. Element Electronics may be relatively unknown yet, but being as far as I am aware the sole manufacturer with an American assembly line, I expect that their name will soon move to the front of the pack, especially if they can find a way to increase their US parts content. I am fully aware that their entry into the market has been bumpy, with no shortage of negative reviews to be found online about their previous import products, but it seems like they might be turning over a new leaf. I should also mention that I have a Toshiba that cost 2 times as much with higher specs and I can tell you that I notice no difference in picture quality, and the JBL sound in the Element Electronics TV is far superior. I should also mention that my Toshiba had sound problems right out of the box, which means that a name brand is no assurance, and this one has no issues that I have discovered yet other then taking some time to dial in. This only leaves longevity as the big question mark to remain, and only time will tell. Kudos to Element Electronics and Costco for finding an affordable way to offer American quality!"

Great Price though

Pros: big inexpensive good sound and pitcure
Cons: channel memory malfunction, screen goes dead on occasion
Model Number: Element 50" 1080p LCD HDTV ELEFQ501J
"I have a DTV Converter box( free over air TV ) and didn't want to spend a ton on a TV. This was a good price for a huge TV. Picture is very good, sound quality is great for me, and I only turn it up to level 3 or 4 out of 50. After programming my channels and favorites, the TV periodically seems randomly erase some of my presets. The screen also goes black every 3 days or so, and I have to turn it off and back on for it to work. I assume if you have satellite or cable, you would just leave the TV itself on channel 3 or 4 and that is that, so the only other issue is the black screen. It was cheap, but this unit is beginning to annoy me. I have had it a week, and I am happy I have the box in tact so I can return it if needed."

Very good TV for the price!

Pros: picture quality, assembled in us, speakers included, well made
Model Number: ELEFQ501J
"After using this unit nightly for about 2 weeks, I have found it very satisfactory for our main living area. The good side is that Element seems to employ US based workers in assembly, the price is very competitive, the quality of the unit itself is a welcome surprise, and the picture is outstanding for it's size and price point. Another good thing for us was the "60Hz" refresh rate doesn't give the picture that noticeable "soap opera effect" (as I've heard it called). Watching HD programs such as sports, kid movies, documentaries, and special-effects-heavy blu-ray features have all been a pleasure with this unit. It's built-in speakers are also a plus as some other units I looked at practically required an add-on sound bar or home theater sound system. Plenty of inputs for a variety of devices.
The things we had trouble getting used to are minor, but do bug me: the color balance and the remote. Yes, the remote seems "sluggish", so wait about 3 seconds after you first press power-on until the start-up screen finally appears. A little blue light on the front corner immediately tells you it has been activated, so if you keep pressing power-on it will turn on and off and you'll think the remote is bad (like my wife did, ha ha). Other than that, it's seems fine. Fine tuning the picture/color quality is tricky and took some time. It has some preset ones, but we felt they all made the colors too saturated, skin tones look orange, and/or the black areas "bleed". It was almost a deal-breaker, but the manual adjustments worked after a couple nights of fine tuning during different movie scenes (just write them down in case you unplug the unit).
I'm a little hesitant to give it "5" stars at this point, but it's definitely a solid "4.5" right out of the box!"
