So Great I'm Buying Another!

Pros: no more hoisting those heavy bottles, i like that the ugly bottle is now out of sight, the design is very sleek, quiet, hot water is ready in an instant
Cons: wish it was available in stores.
"I read the reviews. I'm not sure what people are talking about when they say the unit is noisy. Maybe they got a bad one. Anyway, I purchased this for my office because the one that we had was on its last legs. Its SO convenient. I no longer need someone to help me lift the water bottles. I can just drag one over to the machine, pop the tube in and go on about my business. The hot water gets HOT and the cold is cold enough to create condensation on my glass. I'm ordering another one today for our warehouse. Definitely a great item! I ordered it on a Thursday and it arrived the following Monday."

Excellent Choice

Pros: a breeze to load, enjoying the hot water option
Cons: none so far
Model Number: 601090
"I have not had any of the complaints listed by some of the reviewers. No noises, water is hot and also cold. Easy to load. Don't know why I waited so long."

Do not buy

Pros: it looks nice
Cons: non-stop obnoxious noise
"Noise, noise, and more noise. I'm a huge fan of drinking lots of cold water, so I purchased this for my office. It sits about 12 feet from me, and makes the most obnoxious series of loud headache inducing noises, about 80% of the time, day and night. Literally no product I've purchased in years is as frustrating as this one. I've had it for about a month, and nothing stops the noise. I'm planning to return it shortly. Please, don't buy this."

Distracting

Pros: bottom load
Cons: extremely noisy, $50 per year to run
"Any positive aspects of this cooler are completly negated by the fact that it is way too loud. The pump makes noise pulling water from the bottle but that is acceptable. The really annoying noise comes from the compressor which seems to always be running."

Not a good decision

Cons: noise
Model Number: 601090
"I liked the idea to purchase online and have done so in the past but this was a bigger purchase and should have researched further. The back of the unit rattles something fierce so the noise the dispenser emits is annoying. And it was suggested to clear the lines with vinegar except now my water tastes like pickle juice."

O.k. - Last one was better

Pros: bottom load / looks
Cons: water doesn't get cold, water doesn't get hot, water tastes poor, noisy / loud
Model Number: Primo Model: 601090 Bottom Load
"It's loud every time you get water, although that is the least of the issues. It doesn't get water cold or hot. It's slightly cold and slightly hot - so we can't really use it as we would have liked. Although we put it through the cleaning functions initially and have now been using it for two weeks, it still has a funny taste which I think is from the tubes. So the water I'm paying to have delivered to use because it tastes good is going to waste. I would NOT recommend purchasing even though the prices is low for the bottom load unit."

Good price and quality

"Unit was easy to install and has worked flawlessly dispensing both hot and cold water. Best of all is the easy with which the five gallon water bottles are exchanged."

OK dispenser

Pros: good looking design, quiet water draw
Cons: no sliding bottle tray, no clock
"I needed a replacement for a Black & Decker unit that hadn't been working right. This dispenser is definitely more quiet when drawing water from the jug. There is no clock or temperature adjustment like the B&D unit had, but it does have a night light that can be turned on and off. This unit lacks the pull-out bottle tray like the B&D had, instead it has a angled ramp at the base."

Very good cooler

"I originally bought the top loading version of this. Returned it because the bottle would leak when upside down. Also, such a pain to lift up a 5 gallon tub of water without spilling it. So we decided to go with this model. It really is great. So much easier to have it bottom loading. No leaks. Water cools very well. I love that it is a little higher than the top loading model as I am tall and with this model I don't have to bend as much to get water. Really great product."

Good choice!

Model Number: Item# 667519
"I've had the Primo water cooler for just a few weeks, but I have no complaints. It operates quietly. The water bottles are easy to replace. It feels far more stable than top-load coolers. And, in a modest kitchen, it's an attractive appliance. The 4-star rating is only because my experience is so brief - I don't know how long it will operate this well - but so far, I'm very happy with it!"

Not what we expected

"WE bought this unit for our employees. With Costco's excellent reputation, we thought that this unit would be #1 quality.
We opened unit, and looked at workmanship, and decided this was not for us, and returned. Granted we did not even try, and maybe unit was fine, but looks indicated we should return.

Why didn't I do this before?

Pros: easy to use and great to look at
"We had been renting a water cooler from our bottled water supplier for the last 10 years. It had many problems not the least of which was the way the bottle had to be loaded. which was to pick it up, turn it upside down and jam it into the holder.
This water cooler is not only great looking, it can literally be refilled by anyone including the business owner's 4 year old daughter - she actually did it!
Can't say enough good things about it

Great Cooler

"Very happy with this purchase. It is nice and quiet and the water is cold enough. My only comments are to be careful if you choose to clean it first by running some vinegar water through...it requires a lot of water to do this, and took a little while before the vinegar taste went away. The only other comment is that it does not seem to be able to get the last half inch or so of the 5 gallon bottle. Not a big deal though.
Otherwise a huge improvement from the 10 year old model we purchased from our water delivery service ages ago. Looks much nicer too!"

A Huge Improvement

"We had the prior generation of this particular unit and did experience problems and it finally fully failed. The prior type pumped pressure into the water bottle to force water up to the hot and cold reservoirs.
The new unit uses a suction pump to bring the water up from the bottle to the reservoirs. Much quieter, and hopefully more dependable. The prior machine lasted just over two years.
The water bottle being in the bottom of the unit allows our female component to change the bottle, which is very helpful."

Good value water cooler

Pros: easy assembly
Cons: cold not cold enough
"This is a decent water cooler. The water is not super cold, but medium cool. I previously purchased a different model water cooler from costco made by Viva. That seemed like a more premium water cooler and was 5 dollars less. The water from that cooler was colder and the buttons were more premium. The primo has a cheap feel to it. I had to return the Viva cooler since it had a large dent in it and the Costco club was out of stock. So I ordered the primo. First check what is availible in the club since it is different from the website."

has worked great for me for the past 3 years--

Pros: so much easier to change water, attractive, saves money
Cons: get rid of weird taste/smell before using
"I have a small office and bought three of these--they are wonderful. No more splashing water everywhere like I used to when trying to change the "flip top" kind, and of course--infinitely better for the environment than using individual plastic bottles. One word of caution: when you first purchase--you must wash thoroughly with a water vinegar solution to get the plastic smell-taste out of it. Not difficult to do--but if you don't, the water will taste "off" and you won't like it. Also--please know the hot water is VERY hot--steeps tea in no time. I really do think these are great."

Great Buy, Great Price!

Pros: sturdy and well made
Cons: didn't buy one sooner
"I bought this for my parents who cannot lift the bottles but love a cooler. They can slide the bottles into the unit. Easy hook-up to bottle and has many features such as Indicator lights, cooling, heating, and replace bottle with a tone, Nightlight, and more. It's a must buy and half the cost for one with same bells and wistles. Also, it's very quite."
