Pros: tastes good, most shelf life 25 years
Cons: some shelf life is only 3 years
"I ordered a lot of the food in this package as small servings to compare with other brands, and this one did a good job for the price. As for those that say there is no vegetarian option TVP stands for textured vegetable protein, so all of the "meat" is vegi in this package."

"BEST PRODUCT AT COSTCO. I BUY ONE OF THESE EVERY TIME I PASS BY THE GOOD OL WAREHOUSE. TOO BAD THEY DIDN'T PASS OUT SAMPLES OF THE CONTENTS. THIS IS THE BEST FOOD I'VE EVER HAD FROM A WHITE BUCKET. I BOUGHT IT A WEEK AGO AND MY KIDS HAVE EATEN EVERYTHING INSIDE.
We even had neighbors over for a get-together. Guess what was on the menu? YEP U GUESSED IT- Emergency Food Kit. Neighbors will be back for more. We even gave them some stuff to-go."

Peace of mind in a can
Pros: a lot of thought and work has been done for you., steel cans help protect from environment vermin., economical price per meal but*

"First off, let me say that I was glad I was able to help the truck driver get this off the trailer w/o a catastrophe. The pallet was HEAVY, about 1,800 pounds! Of the 63 boxes (each w/6 steel 1-gallon cans), only two cans in one box were damaged. This due to a cheap pallet and not-the-best pallet jack. A subsequent phone call to Shelf Reliance and the 2 cans were quickly replaced. Customer service gets 5 stars. I have yet to try any of the products, so no opinion there as to flavor. However, each can lists the nutritional info, shelf life, shelf life after opening, and preparation instructions. In actuality, I give this purchase a 4.9 rating. My only wish would have been to replace the flavored sugar drink mixes with more food. These drink mixes (total of 16 cans) have the shortest shelf life of any of the products at 3 years. They would probably be good in a camp setting with lots of young kids, but in the scenarios I envision, I would prefer plain water and additional food."

"As the product says, it is for EMERGENCY. So I don't know how it tastes and, quite frankly, I hope I never have to. But we did a lot of comparison shopping and this was by far the best value we found. The mfg website has some reviews of people who use it daily on a rotational basis and seem to like it, so I am hopeful.

"We have purchased similiar packages of Shelf Reliant food and have suggested to them not to include items that have less than 10 year shelf life. 3 years go by in a blink of an eye. If you buy, be sure to check for damaged cans (top and bottom of cans) where the seams may be dented. If air gets into a can, you will discover it when the odor floats through the air. Repack cans so that all items in a box have same shelf life and it helps if you write on the end of the box what is inside / quantity of cans / date of manufacture / shelf life / treatment of food. Most freeze dried food is good for 25 years nominal. Different companies offer different numbers. The food will most likely be good past the "shelf life" assuming air has not breached the can's seal. It may not taste as good after the stated shelf life has been exceeded but it sure will be better than cardboard and grass! Shelf Reliance will send new cans to replace damaged cans if you give them a call. Regards"
