Glide Bikes 12" Mini Glider for Ages 2 to 5

Glide bikes let every child gain confidence, improve motor skills, increase coordination and learn balance at their own pace all while having fun. Teach kids to ride with NO TRAINING WHEELS! No Pedals. No Training Wheels. Pedals and training wheels hinder the learning process of riding a bike because children can't focus on the first important step - how to balance a bike.  Instead, they are trying to pedal, brake and balance, all a once. Training wheels prevent the bike from leaning, so kids never experience the feeling of balancing themselves because the training wheels are doing it for them! The average time a child spends riding with training wheels is two to three years.  With Glide Bikes kids learn to balance first with no pedals or training wheels to get in the way.  Some children are riding a bike within a day, a week or a month.  Even after they've learned to ride a pedal bike they keep coming back to their Glide Bike because gliding is the new, fun way to ride! Features: Manufacturer suggests ages 2 to 5 (pant size 2T-5)   Holds child's weight up to 100 lbs.   Patented Slow Speed Geometry for slowest speed balance bike   Durable, alloy frame featuring mountain bike geometry   Quick release seat clamp allows easy height adjustments from 11"-16.5"   Durable 12" EVA Form tires never need air   Assembled Dimensions: 36" x 25" x 1"   Assembly Instructions Included   Tools Required: Wrench (included)    Weight: 8 lbs. Components: Handlebar Steering Limit: Extensive product testing shows that the steering limit feature safely prevents the rider from being hit in the chest or head by the handlebars. This feature also prevents the brake cable from becoming twisted. The steering limit does not prevent a full turning radius nor does it hinder a child from graduating to a traditional bicycle.   Easy to Use, Child-sized Hand Brake: Gives the rider control and prevents dragging feet. Easy to use composite with reach adjuster.   Convenient Kick Stand: Steel rear wheel mount.   Lightweight and Strong: Constructed of rustproof 6061 Aluminum Alloy. Lightweight yet durable and designed to last for years.   Footpegs- Unique patented foot pegs give riders a fun way to glide and help train children where to put their feet on a pedal. Pegs can also be removed for new learners.   Adjustable Seat Height: Quick release seat clamp enables easy height adjustments from 11" to 16.5" for proper fit.   Adjustable Handlebar: Adjustable up to 3" for a custom fit.   Head and Seat Angle Design: Designed with our patented geometry, it allows for the slowest and safest balancing speed (1.5 MPH). The geometry positions the front wheel out in front of the handlebar, making the bike easier to steer and making it nearly impossible for the rider to go over the handlebars. The rider's weight is centered over the rear wheel, making the child's center of gravity lower for more stability.   Made in China Model Number: 11763519

No Customer Service from Manufacturer

Pros: shipping metal frame and lightweight
Cons: customer service from manufacturer, save the box until you check the whole bike
Model Number: 11763519
"They delivered the bike in one day after ordering from Costco. I opened the box and put the bike together. The next day I noticed the back tire with a plastic rim was not straight, so called the manufacturer and left message to see if they could send me a new wheel. They called once left a message and never heard from them again. I guess I will return it Costco now. Buy the wooden one. This is my first bad review after giving them 3 weeks to respond."

One Image shows the larger version of this bike

Model Number: 11763519
"The manufacturer also sells a larger 16" version of this balance bike. Costco's web site shows a boy riding this larger version in one of the photos. Don't be misled by this.
Other that this listing error, these bikes are great. The larger size is for 5 year olds+ or tall 4 year olds.

Cute and "Itty Bitty"

Pros: very adjustable good quality.
Cons: some may not like the plastic type wheels.
"Ordered this for my 2 year old granddaughter for Christmas so haven't used it yet. (Will update after that).
The bike was incredibly easy to put together. Instructions were not that detailed but it was easy to figure out how it goes together.
Quality appears good, hot pink is a great color.
The bike has adjustments for the seat and handlebars.
The photo makes it look bigger than it is. The bike is "itty bitty" (short and compact) so it looks like it will fit the 2 year old."

Great learning bike!!

Model Number: 12" mini glider
"After seeing my son struggle to ride a bike with training wheels (it was also to big a 16") his feet couldn't touch the ground. He is also 4 and a half yrs old. Friends of ours were visiting and their 4 yr old was a pro on a peddle bike. This was their secret. The bike is great, and after just a month he is getting better at balance, and zooming up and down the street. Very pleased. Also the instructions while not great, it is pretty self explanatory. Don't know how you would end up bending a fork or chipping the paint? From another review."

Best Money I ever spent

Pros: ease of use
Model Number: MG12R
"I purchased this glide bike for my Son when he was less than two for Christmas. Everyone thought I was crazy. By the spring at less than 2 1/2 he was riding this and a big boy bike (no training wheels). Now, three years later I have taught countless neighbors and relatives using this bike. Almost every visitor to our house who is a non rider, leaves being able to ride. The bike has held up well and still looks great. No glide bike I have seen balances at such a low speed and makes learning to ride so natural and easy."

Great little bike

Pros: adjusts easily fits in car with no problem.
Cons: brakes could be a little easier for small hands.
"3 year old uses bike. Foot pegs rotate out of way - convenient when kid started going faster. Brakes were difficult to adjust for mom, took it to local bike shop. Brakes a little difficult to squeeze for small hands, but easy to brake using feet. Adjusts easily, and was easy to put together. LIght weight for carrying when the little one tires out. Perfect for taking in cars and on public transportation. Great for perfecting balance and coasting ability. My kid loves it!"

Bad instructions

Cons: instructions
"After much struggle, I was able to assemble the bike. But not without damaging the paint or bending the fork. The assembly instructions are very poor."

Best Balance Bike

Pros: aluminum so it wont' rust, great warranty, foot pegs, small hand brake
"I have the Mini Glider and my children learned to ride on this bike and I use it in PE class to help kids learn balance too. Everyone has so much fun on the Glider and the quality is excellent. This bike is very lightweight and the kids love the foot pegs."

Best Balance Bike

Pros: foot pegs and brakes, great quality, easy to put together
Model Number: Glide Bikes 12" Mini Glider
"We got the Mini Glider for our kids and they loved it. They were able to learn balance right away without the falls, scrapes and fear.
Its the best purchase We have ever made for a kids toy or ride on. They use it all the time and the kids in the neighborhood always want to ride it. We looked at other learning bikes or balance bikes but none had the features or quality of Glide Bikes. They include a brake, foot rests and a kickstand.
Now my kids are able to keep up on long walks with complaints.
