Not Waterproof as Advertised
Pros: takes decent pictures
Cons: don't take it into the water, especially salt water, somewhat clunky design, minimal special features

"We bought this camera earlier this year and tested it on a camping trip to the river. During the second day in the water, it started to show signs of seepage (cloudy lens, auto shut-off, etc). After drying out though, it would work fine so we figured everything would be ok. We bought this camera specifically for the trip we are on now (5 months abroad). We took it into the ocean, and the same thing started happening, but it continued to work after drying. After the 2nd time in the ocean, it completely died (memory card read error). We thought we lost our pics, but they were safe. The biggest problem is that we still have 3 months of our trip left and no camera.
This is VERY disappointing!!!"

Died on first time into the ocean
Cons: died.
"I bought this camera for a cruise trip. On the first day, we snapped a few pictures and videos in the pool on the ship (heated to about 32C). It was great. When we got to Baja, we were on a snorkel trip to the ocean. Jumped into the water, cleaned my mask, swam to the coral site, and BANG camera lens was foggy and could not turn on the camera. Lucky a few shots earlier in the pool were intact in the memory card!!!!

It works for capturing the action
Pros: simple to use
Cons: lens not protected
"We use two of these for making short SUP and Outrigger action films. Search for SUP Surf Club to see some recent films where this footage along with the GoPro comes out nice since there is zoom and plenty of battery life. I have had guest camera operators do terrific work for what we expected."

Defective design - Do not buy this!
Pros: fun camera
Cons: stabilization not so good, side door latch is easily opened by mistake

"Problem - the side door latch does not click shut and is located typically where you would hold the camera.
Result - fatal underwater. The door opened on our camera underwater.
We flooded our camera and will return it to Costco. We thought the latch was defective but found out that is how it is designed. Thus, we will not replace it but return it for a refund."

Horrible!! Not for action sports
Pros: small and compact., has minimal features. no confusions
Cons: terrible videos, satabilization doesnt work well, worse that a standard smartphone video
"I used this camera for one day and all I have to say is, its one of the worst cameras I have ever had. Image stabilization feature is a joke. The fish-eye effect almost makes it hazy. I was a fool to think that maybe not to HD Hero2 level of clarity but atleast something. I was wrong. If you are only using this as a camcorder that you can usually do with a smartphone,,, why am I buying this again?"

Run away!
Pros: compact
Cons: allowed moisture to get into the lens/ screen
"Bought this camera / camcorder for a trip to Hawaii. Took it under water to snorkel with. By day 2 moisture started getting under the lens and display screen. As a result, all video and pictures were very cloudy. By day 4, the camera died. It mentions that it's waterproof up to 3 meters. That is far from accurate. I would look elsewhere. Returned it immediately after I got home."

Pros: great video, great audio
Cons: each video lasts only 20 min
"Video and audio quality is great but each file only lasts 20min. So, for a 1 hour lecture, it breaks up into 3 videos. I tried to find a way to stitch the videos to make one and came across Windows Media Player which I'm trying to figure out now. Each 1 hr video takes up about 3.5 GB so you need a large SD card for multiple recordings."

Easy, Convenient, Nice Picture
Pros: turns on quickly, switch between 720p and 1080p easily, microsd cards are cheap to store more data, costco's concierge service available
Cons: instructions are vague
"Bought this camera just before my second kid was born. It's extremely convenient...small enough to fit in your pocket, and doesn't take long to turn on to start using. Been able to capture lots of moments already, and easily downloaded onto the computer.
Charges with USB connection, so I use my cell phone charger extension so it doesn't have to be charged only through connection on the computer.

nice small camera
"Nice to carry when you dont want to lug your big feature rich camera. You don't need to lug a laptop when you travel with this camera. It recharges with a USB plug. You can buy for a low price a small USB charger that plugs into a wall socket. Also carry extra micro SD cards to store pictures until you get home then download into your computer."

Not good!

"The manual is not complete .. it doesn't give enough info on overall functions and how to use the camcorder. The continuous recording time is not consistent. Sometimes it stops/re-records at 16 min .. sometimes 18 min ... I don't like he attached usb power charge ... Should I take my laptop to anywhere I take this camcorder?
I like the quality of recording though ..."
