Flawed design
Pros: great not to have to touch
Cons: could not keep clean develops nasty smell
"What a great idea. Seemed rather expensive, but tried it anyway. The batteries are in the lid which has a multitude of nooks and crannies for bugs and dirt to get in. Extremely difficult to clean. Moisture caused battery contacts to rust and lose power. Really disappointed. Lasted only a couple of months. Smaller unit operated fine for about nine months before dying."

Top Quality Trash Cans
Pros: under priced & top quality

"First of all this set costs less than a single manual S.S. 15 gallon can in the Costco store, so these are well under priced. We bought the set about a month ago, the sensors work very well and the cans have the appearance of a high-end kitchen appliance, not a boring, dull old waste basket. I will definitely buy Nine Stars products again"

Just OK
Pros: good size
Cons: inconsistent opening and no container
"Does what it says but not as good as it could be. Inconsistent on speed to open, sometimes you must move your hand over the sensor several times before it will open. There is no container inside so you are forced to use bags."

Awesome trash can
Pros: stainless steele, no finger prints
"These work fantastic...the lid does tend to get slow after a couple years even with new batteries but think of how many times it is opened in a day. We have had ours for about 4 years."

stopped working
"Eventually the bigger trash can stopped working, even with new batteries. You could hear the motor straining, but the lid wouldn't open or close.
Thankfully Costco let us return them."

Great Trash Can!
Pros: stainless steel looks, hands-free operation
"Both of these trash cans look very nice and they work very well. They even comes with a 1 year warranty. Just make sure to mail in a copy of your receipt with the form. Also, I read somewhere to make sure an avoid manually closing or opening the lid as it might damage the motor. I'm not 100% sure on that, but it seems like good advice."

Half the price than others
"If you're looking for a stainless steel 13gallon trash can, be prepared to shell out $100+ at other *home* stores. For that price you get only 1 trash can, not 2.
I got 2 of these for almost the price of one :) I could not be happier and the quality is the same or even better."
